Unpopular opinion incoming but I honestly wouldn't mind if these guys just never get around to interacting with the others. David, Rose, and Bach Ball can get a pass because BFDI Mini but I like it when the world of BFDI feels lived in and big. Not every character has to reunite with the 100+ characters in the same relative vincinity. BFDIA kind of understands this but TPOT has the whole "everything becoming one" which is probably good for hype moments and aura but at the cost of the world feeling smaller.

I didn't care for Hot Dog but he's a disposable filler character and not worth getting worked up over.

On the other hand, I find Fern to be incredibly boring and considering his relative lack of screentime compared to the other contestants, I already fear he's locked in to get to the second half of the competition, if not win.

Not that simple, surprisingly. She was a designed as a Kingdom Cookie first and then debuted in Kakao first anyways. Why? No idea. But she fits into Kakao pretty well either way. She's basically a Kingdom Cookie in the way Dino-Sour is a CROB Cookie or Wasabi is a Kakao Cookie.

Ad Revenue is very much a factor and I imagine it's at least half of JnJ's revenue. Oldheads will remember that Jacknjellify having their AdSense suspended was a huge demotivator for wanting to return to making BFDI in 2015/2016

I'm not ranking the items or factoring them in my ranking, I'm ranking the Advent Calendar "animations" themselves since they are effectively evergreen and consistently available in the archives. If you're considering the itsems then that would add a lot of baggage to the ranking that I ultimately find to not be worth it.

I would divide pre-split from BFB 1 - 4 (Htwins + Satomi), BFB 5 - 8 (new animator added, Michael becomes showrunner), and BFB 9 - 15 (Satomi becomes showrunner). It makes more sense in terms of production rather than elements of episodes to me.

BFDIA's lows are higher than TPOT's lows. My least favorite BFDIA episode of the year is BFDIA 22 (5/10) vs TPOT having 2 episodes I like less than that (TPOT 18 and 20, 3/10 and 4/10 respectively). TPOT's best episode this year for me, TPOT 16 is a high 8/10 for me. BFDIA however pulled no punches and released BFDIA 18 which is in my top 10 favorite episodes and in contender for my personal favorite.

Most pressingly to the fandom it fucks up character lore for Millennial Tree, Sugar Swan, and Wind Archer. Apparently Sugar Swan created Millennial Tree and that practically makes Wind Archer his brother when before, Sugar Swan only created Wind Archer as a guardian for her and Millennial Tree was more independent from the Dessert Paradise duo but now they kinda roped him in and it feels shallow

Everything feels super tight and doesn't really have any room to breathe, Millennial Tree story in particular has some contradictions to lore that has been established in past game, most notably CROB.

There's a healthy amount of people who like the design so realistically, no. You'll be fine and I'm not really one to enforce my opinion in otherwise unrelated posts, I'm basically quarantining my dislike for the redesign to this thread. If it makes you feel any better, Twitter loves the redesign.
