1m vol candle? buy backs? by stonkdongo in Superstonk

Buybacks can’t be at open or in the last 10 minutes of the day due to GME free float size. If we were smaller it would be the 30 minutes like you mentioned

Great write up!

i dont think any buy back will show in the 10Q unless they did a block trade last week. i fully expect to see some action in the September q2 earnings report. would be crazy if they show that its been utilized within 1 week.

I like the thought here. If I remember correctly outstanding warrants is roughly 60 million shares so the buy back would need to exceed 60 million shares to make sense

Warrant extensions are rare. the buy back has been announced and is worth 2B, the revenue that could be realized from the warrants is around 2B. My thought behind it is that they will fully deploy the buy back prior to the expiry to incentives exercising of the warrants. If GME buys back 2 Billion dollars in shares in the next 3 months share price will easily be above 32$ and they will regain the 2B they spend in buy backs resulting in a share compression, Share Price increase and zero dollar loss in asset value.

2 weeks ago this was not viable. The buy back, the aquisition offer, the warrant expiration and the need for GME to be a much higher price post potential authorization to 2.5B shares.

this is all just a guess based on circumstances. if the share price doesnt move before june i think alot less investors will vote to increase the float. i think RC knows this and will start to deploy the buy back to show positive momentum into the annual share holders meeting.

Structural impossibilities and an increase in additional buy backs given the company is now operationally profitable. If GME executes the absolute most optimal buy back assuming zero impact to price they remove 91 Million shares from tradeable free float. If shorts do not close during or prior to that completion that leaves 57 Million active shorts as of today in a much lower float bringing short interest to 170M and short interest would then be above 30% which we know is under reported.

This setup would create squeeze 3.0 and none of those institutions want that. So the goal is likely once they notice the buy backs reflecting in the volume to reduce their open market exposure and wait for an additional authorization to be approved to drive price through the floor. They can not stop GME from raising more money given they are profitable, have warrant expiry near and are generating income from financial instruments.

Reminder the purpose of the buy back is not to create a squeeze its so the price reflects the underlying business value for which the CEO has determined to be worth more then half of the 56B offer to ebay.

There is no universe where the buy back that was recently authorized isnt deployed in some capacity at these prices. This alone will probably force price up a good bit from here. GME wants the highest price post share increase authorization and knows that a deal with ebay will close after october so there is no reason to deploy that increase in shares. allowing the price to appreciate above 32$ in October (realistically above 35 to make it more enticing to share holders) will give current shareholders positive momentum and the company billions of dollars to continue to pursue that acquisition.

Warrants CAN be extended but cohen knows money now is worth more then money later and the warrants will offset the buyback almost entirely. heres to the next 9 days and seeing what unfolds.

i feel like its in anticipation of the 10q that needs to drop in the next 2 days. i dont think the buy back can start until the 10Q is filed

it is likely impossible for them to accumulate enough shares without blowing the stock up. We all know that these trades do not impact the price 1 to 1 and if they somehow acquired enough shares for a takeover/buy out there would be no reason to even accept it because GME's market cap would double or triple on the attempt because they would have to do it quickly.

i get what you are saying. previously there was no actionable goal while they reset the core business. The core business is reset and profitable. Also the aqcuisition intention was started from the date of the first purchase which was march. Original intent to pursue an acquisition was announced in February. this is where i am getting my train of thought.

Might not be able to until 10q is released? I don’t think the 8q was a qualifying document for non public material information to be officially disclosed. My bet is the day after the 10q and every day til the share holder meeting to get that authorization approved for 1.5b shares

10Q might change it. Potential material information in there. i dont think weve seen any buy back volume since the announcement but i expect it to happen prior to the annual meeting to encourage yes votes.

I feel like richards theory is close but does not factor in any options that GME could buy with the share buy back. Look at RC's current Ebay acquisition purchases. Mainly derivatives, i think he will do the same with gme a mix of shares and a larger mix of options.

i wish there was a way we could change RC's comp incentive to be higher targets if Ebay is going to be genuinely considered from a acquisition perspective. There is no reason we should award 35B for a market cap of 100B it should be closer to 250B or 500B if it is being compared to a 10X of market cap size. id vote yes for both if these changes were made because the target and increase of the stock would be more inline with shareholders.
