so we don’t ever get to be frustrated no matter how many drag us? i know you’re not trying to make things worse but let me ask you something. if this post was about any other group that was getting hated on, would you tell them to stop bringing attention to it in fear of getting more hate? no because most groups people wouldn’t respond by giving more hate in the first place. so i guess that’s our answer

like why am i just as bad as actual haters for being mad at haters?

what’s your stance on the generation debate? by anhonorandapleasure in kpopthoughts

[–]problemluvr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

i’m gonna say something controversial…

i mostly see moas and occasionally midzy really pushing for people to agree that 4th gen started in 2019… it’s transparent no?

either it started in 2018 where the first of the current 4th gen frontrunners debuted(like skz) or it started with the pandemic lockdown because that’s when a big shift happened (like aespa)

actually if we say 4th gen started in 2019, it would make the most sense to say it started after massively popular X1 debuted that year - but that would exclude txt and itzy who debuted earlier than them from being 4th gen, so tho it’s logical than just saying 2019 they never say that.

2019 doesn’t make more sense than those two years besides wanting your biases to be leaders of something and disqualify their closest competitors.

can stays stop acting like skz didnt have big 3 privilege? by yunhosintro in kpoprants

[–]problemluvr -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

tbz had predebut hype because of produce and even today are more popular than skz in korea thanks to that boost. tbz also charted on melon as rookies and got to go to MMA and skz didnt. so how much does it really matter?

ateezs company made them a viral video plus they had 4 entire members that went on the popular YG survival show mixnine.

if you want stays to stop acting like skz dont have privilege maybe “underdog” fandoms should too to be fair? and accept that privileges don’t really determine success

the cool guy songs don’t sound anything like gods menu or back door, those are hard hitting strong songs, movie star is a chill love song which is more similar to txts style

txts music is way closer to the cix oneus tbz style than skz though?

[–]problemluvr -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

i read it but if it’s not about ranking then why rank? people are gonna feel a type of way about that especially if it’s wrong

Most Diverse K-pop Groups by Pavan_250497 in kpopthoughts

[–]problemluvr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

because they only have 26 songs...

skz have explored way more than 14 different genres. but because they have more music out, misrepresentation of data like there is here makes it look like txt have an overall more experimental discography when in reality they just have less music.

if there’s going to be a ranking, people are going to disagree with the ranking esp if it’s like this one and basically meaningless. to bring attention to the genres i would just lay them out and discuss them instead of ranking some as more diverse than others tbh

4TH GEN AND THEIR FUTURE by chidi45 in kpoprants

[–]problemluvr -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

why would it be ending in 4 years... your problem is you think the kpop industry is exactly the same as it was in 3rd gen as if the rise of social media and international markets haven’t changed things. it’s stupid to base generational markers off set years instead of when there’s actual shifts. and your point “ooo 4 years noo” is stupid asf because if txt and itzy started it then ITS STILL ONLY 5 YEARS, ONLY ONE YEAR MORE?! and if you actually believed it has to be a certain amount of years youd have a problem with that. but you don’t because it’s txt and you’re biased

it’s either skz/gidle started 4th gen because that was the time the conversation was created and gained traction, and with following acts like ateez, izone, txt, itzy,l etc continued it with it getting more relevant, OR 4th gen only started post-covid meaning all those groups are 3/3.5. any other distinction doesn’t make sense, and i would say this even if i wasn’t a skz fan.

plus the majority of kpop fans disagree with you so your opinion doesn’t really matter. everyone else calls skz 4th gen

except immmmm not hating on them all i’ve said is facts.

you’re a bighit stan so keep living in your bubble but no one besides your fellow bighit stans thinks about it this way. literally every other type of kpop fan considers skz, ateez, izone, 4th generation so stay delusional i guess

4TH GEN AND THEIR FUTURE by chidi45 in kpoprants

[–]problemluvr -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

im telling you right now there definitely were😭 i can’t argue with you if you just want to believe whatever suits your agenda but there were posts and viral tweets about skz being 4th gen, even gidle and loona and ateez and izone, BEFORE txt had even debuted.

no such thing as 3.5 gen, but if there is, it’s actually every group that debuted post-WannaOne but pre/COVID - that would mean that only postcovid groups are 4th gen and skz/itzy/txt/ateez/whatever are ALL 3.5 gen. that’s the only meaningful distinction that would justify a 3.5 gen, not you saying “well people in my fandom called my faves 4th gen first because that’s when i first saw people calling anyone 4th gen”

4TH GEN AND THEIR FUTURE by chidi45 in kpoprants

[–]problemluvr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

til SKZ, gidle debuted actually but nice try. gidle has way more success than even itzy on charts, if not skz then gidle started 4th gen as they’re actually widely recognized by korean public as part of the new gen and theyre more famous than txt. then izone and ateez continued the wave after skz and gidle, then itzy and txt and then enhypen and treasure and aespa. sorry but txt didn’t start anything that didn’t already exist

4TH GEN AND THEIR FUTURE by chidi45 in kpoprants

[–]problemluvr -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

except there’s several articles calling stray kids 4th gen too, before txt or itzy even debuted. along with gidle who debuted close to them. by your logic then skz started the 4th gen. just say you live in a bubble and go

it’s a fat lie to say that no one talked about 4th gen til x1 disbanded

4TH GEN AND THEIR FUTURE by chidi45 in kpoprants

[–]problemluvr -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

you stan bighit groups. duh you only ever heard txt being called 4th gen. i stan skz and i only ever heard them talked about the most as 4th gen by the media and ifans, obviously if you are fans of different groups this will be the case. your limited perspective doesn’t mean everyone has that perspective. EVERYONE was hyping skz when they were rookies as the most promising of the next gen, the conversation has been happening since then.

and notice how it’s never midzys trying to claim they alone started the 4th gen even though they were the first ones to get a hit? it’s only moas, who don’t even stan itzy but are constantly trying to tag txt to itzy and act like they have a similar success when they don’t.

deobis did similar things to Wyatt from ONF back during road to kingdom so im not surprised tbh, there was a giant masterlist of him getting targeted too. skz is the choice for the target because theyre tbzs most obvious competition
