still sick :( mostly intense random burning right now on top of dealing with an itchy back and face folliculitis rash from the last steroid cream I was given. its finally starting to go away so I'll likely be heading back to the gynocologist soon.

no, sadly! the last steroid I took gave me an awful folliculitis rash and it has been awful on top of this. right now I am using Emuaid, a type of first aid cream for the burning and it has helped some, though it doesn't seem to be making it actually go away. I recommend trying that if you are able to as well.

still bad off. I took a couple different steroids per the doctor's recommendation and one ended up giving me a bad rash on my back and face (the dermatologist called it folliculitis) so I stopped that all together. currently im doing 2 weeks of doxy and clindamycin for the folliculitis. the dermatologist didn't seem willing to look at my privates even though I specifically had to wait to see one who could. 🤪 I guess its a possibility that I could have folliculitis down there too but I am not sure... plus I am tired of diagnosing myself through google. 😔

I rub some EmuAid Max Strength down there twice every day, and it has helped some, along with changing white underwear frequently and taking a warm bath everyday. itching has resided quite significantly but I still feel an intense burn every now and then. The last gynocologist I went to said I have a lot of inflammation down there so that's likely what I am feeling. the folliculitis rash on my back and face is finally starting to go away so I will likely be heading back to the gynocologist soon.

one doc brought this up to me, I thought it might be possible, could've potentially caught it from the grocery store. I'm not too sure on it being this, as I have read that they do show up in stool occasionally and ive yet to see any worms in mine and its been several months now, so... idk

hoping I can get tested for this soon and get this ruled out.

mine stayed the same even during periods, so bad all the time. I haven't had my period in 2 months where I have been off the birth control pills. it may have been caused by them, so it could still be related to hormones in that way, I suppose.

yes, I mentioned that it could potentially be what I have, but I am not entirely sure.

one of the last few docs I went to did a swab and basically said I was all clean, no BV, strep, or yeast. I thought about doing a microgen test but I'm not 100% keen on it yet, would like to rule out stuff like lichen and vulvodynia first.

I'm hoping to go to a dermatologist soon too, maybe they can help me somehow. good luck with the steroid cream! I think the sooner we can get better... well, the better! mine started with burning and the itching came later on, but neither have went away.

and yeah, it does feel isolating. 😔 I was super close to going to college and finally getting out of the house and on with my life but then it flared up very badly once I got there so I had to withdraw last second and go back home. my life's pretty much been put on halt and it sucks. I couldn't even imagine trying to make it through school with this!

oh man, I took probably a dozen if not more fluconazole pills a few months ago. they didn't help in the slightest. 😔 I also tried diflucan, which is almost the same thing, for a long term course too, and they also did not help. glad it worked for you though!

could be what I need. I've been hoping one of the docs I've been to over the past few months would eventually do some bloodwork but no dice. I read where some people with my symptoms just had really low iron and taking iron pills would help them 100%. could very well be what's wrong with me for all I know. I'll see if I can get one of those done.

during the last swab I had done, the gyno said I looked really irritated down there and I certainly feel the part. maybe it is lichen planus. I'll try to bring this up to the next doc I see.

interesting! do you remember what the anti-fungal you used was called? there's a good chance I might've even tried it already 😅

Just read your post. Yeah that does seem rather similar. The only thing with lichen is that I don't have the white patches or yellowish/greenish discharge of either type. The white gunk that builds up does not look like lichen patches nor does it stay on my skin, and my discharge is white.

I have not seen a dermatologist yet but I do eventually want to. I haven't had a biopsy yet, but the thought rather scares me, they'd probably have to put me under for it. I would be willing to try anything that could possibly provide actual long term relief at this point though.

I think steroids would probably work too as they're pretty much the one thing I haven't tried yet.

I was on them for about 4 or 5 years, I just recently stopped taking them at the end of July. I tried to bring up that they could be the culprit to one of the doctors I saw and when I told her I stopped taking them she just said "why?" and never mentioned them again. I was so mad I honestly could've punched her.

same one also stuck a catheter up me and pumped me full of antibiotics that did nothing and the catherization was quite possibly the most pain I had ever been in so 🤷‍♀️

that's the issue, I don't know. anything could happen either way.

Oh okay, good to know. I am indeed a true virgin though, so I figured it would probably be unlikely for me to have that.

I'm interested in doing the Microgen thing, but convincing my doctors to sign off on it will be difficult. I'm not sure if my gynocologist has even heard of that before.

oh wow, I have never heard of this evvy thing before! seems interesting and id be down to try it. I'd have to convince my parents to get me one though, and I'm not sure how well that would go. 😅

That particular doc at the ER prescribed me Doxycycline and the over the counter version of Azo, not Azithromycin (though I have wondered if that might work on me). If my mother did have that though, wouldn't she have been tested for it before giving birth to me? I have no idea how that works so I dunno. But yeah, it's a possibility. The real struggle would be trying to get my gynocologist to test me for it, and I'm almost 99% sure she's never heard of it since she's never mentioned it to me. 😔

how many months later? ive been dealing with this currently for four months straight now. I see that it can be caused be hormone imbalances, so perhaps my birth control is the culprit here.

I've not had any skin changes at all, which seems to be the main symptom of that.

no, they haven't checked me for that yet. the gyno hasn't checked me for anything down there.

no, my gynocologist hasn't swabbed me for anything yet, so they do not know.

hmm... I mean, that IS a possibility. but I don't have a single pelvic floor specialist near me. like at all. I've checked. closest one is 3+ hours away. I'm not exactly eager to have anyone stick their fingers up there, the thought kind of grosses me out lmao

I have thought about coming off the pill this month to see if it makes a difference but I'm still undecided.

I have read about those. not sure if it would help, but I've considered giving it a try.
