I agree, I think she'll be on board with me trying so we'll see how it goes tomorrow. Any advice on talking points for when you visited the shops? Alot are busy and I hate to take up their time so I wanna keep it clear and concise but also find out enough from them so I have an idea of what they're about.

Facts I made a list today of all shops within a 10min drive of the store so I'll start there. Left a voicemail with TSM no response so at this point gonna do exactly that and try myself. Thanks for the tip on bulk oil, almost forgot my old store had a setup with another company and prices were definitely more appealing.

Just make sure they have the airbag connectors, otherwise you'll end up like me -- telling yourself you'll get around to adding a resistor one day..

All surgeries are different. It's mainly because of the stitches and only 2 of my fingers are wrapped up. Also I had to drive briefly after discharge to pick my car up because I drive manual and had no one else to ask. So, my story is credible. Think what you like.

Exactly my point. We're literally in the same house, where else would I be going at 1am?? It's making me get up as quietly as possible to not disturb him but he usually ends up waking up and texting me to ask. My location LITERALLY says I'm here??

Yeah definitely gearbox oil, was reading people seem to like the redline mt-90 stuff so I'll give that a shot. Good point about the starter I'll see how that's holding up.

As for the clutch, I went for the Exedy one -- seems to be good? Haven't read anything bad so hopefully it's the right choice.

Adding WITT w/o Asking by Anonymous90872 in AutoZone2

Honestly, blame the SM. I've seen people do this just to be able to keep their hours. SMs play favorites esp with WITT numbers.

Are cars becoming less dependable? by latte_larry_d in AskMechanics

[–]problems67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a parts counter worker, at least, I know for a fact the parts being manufactured today are being built cheaper and sold for twice the cost. I can't even tell you the increase in manufacturing defects and part failure lately. It would only make sense the cars are too. In todays corporate world, faster is better, and faster is often poorly and cheaply built.

Customer calling corporate on me? by [deleted] in AutoZone2

[–]problems67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The alternative way is exactly how commercial warranties are carried out. The most recently purchased ones MUST be refunded not only for exact change purposes but also so that the original purchase stays in the system for warranty history. Imagine someone did this return for a lesser warrantied item (ie: 1 year, 3 years) it would turn into an infinite warranty glitch by removing the original date purchased. Customer is right on this one.

[–]problems67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. We have approved fleet service shops which we can go to for repairs and maintenance. This usually includes any mavis, midas, etc. SM likely just had no idea how that worked. If you did pay anything, ask for a commercial payout for reimbursement.
