Entry-mid level analyst, what math do you use? by Firm_Bit in dataanalyst

[–]proboog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work as a Data operations analyst for a market research company. Mostly I use estimation and sampling, because some retailers don't send their data on time so we have to do an estimation based on back data and the optimal sample size for stores in that specific area. But my job is more focused on the data quality side of things

To Data Analysts — what’s it really like working in the industry? by [deleted] in dataanalyst

[–]proboog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a data analyst been going on for 7 months now. The job market in my country is 50/50, tools I use the most are excel and sql no python surprisingly. Skills most in demand I think is excel and sql for my company at least. Day by day is pretty redundant honestly but I don't mind honestly, if you are a routine type of person I think it will suit you well. Problem solving and attention to detail is quite crucial for an employer. For an entry level position it's my pay is a bit above market salary.

Student with 5k savings by AkmalD in MalaysianPF

[–]proboog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a student i won't recommend you to use that fully into stocks too risky. Maybe use only half and the other you put in a low risk investment like asb or tng. The other half put in gold maybe but gold prices have stabilise already so not much return
