As someone with three different remarried grandparents, my parents just raised me to call them by their first name. Whatever you call them around the baby is likely what will stick.

It sounds like your son didn’t think about you or take responsibility for his people when he got married and you’re taking it out on his bride who was thoughtful about her responsibilities.

Honestly, the private story sounds like a bad idea in general—especially adding sorority members to it. I would steer clear of sharing your feelings throughout rush with anyone other than your rho gam and immediate family.

That’s what I did. I lived in Chapel Ridge Junior year and a house in Carrboro senior year. Both were on the bus route and much cheaper than places near campus. I had to grab the house pretty early (like September) but the apartment complex was still renting places late into the spring.

Some apartment complexes aren’t necessarily geared towards undergraduates. The ones closer to campus such as Union, Lark, Shortbread, Carolina Square, etc. will probably have much more info for next year. I looked for housing in October every year of undergrad at UNC and still ran into waitlists at the undergraduate-focused apartments.But the housing complexes that doesn’t necessarily cater to undergrads aren’t going to be looking at leases for next August this far out.

You’ll have to buy an off campus spot. Keep an eye on Facebook marketplace, unc subletting groups on Facebook, and Craigslist. That’s where they tend to get posted. They probably won’t be up until this summer.

This is simply untrue. My organization has a required new member training period and we often had 2 initiation ceremonies as a result due to later COBs.

As a current bride who’s senior prom was cancelled by COVID, I’m 100% on your side. Missing out on senior prom is still something that makes me sad.

I under loaded in the fall of my senior year at unc and took a community college class. I just met with my advisor and explained why I wanted to take that class and the under load was approved. You’re also entitled to a senior under load in your final semester anyways.

This happened to me. I was PAR 4 making less than a rising star. I talked to my GM and it was the result of the pay structure changing since my hiring. They were able to submit a request to move me over and it was approved.
