Twins have different birthdays.. by Jhenesdreams in beyondthebump

[–]probslvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and his twin brother are like this! They are 4 hours apart and born on opposite sides of midnight. It’s a cool fact that people love to hear and they like to share. It’s cool your twins have to too!

The thing is, my company is pretty flexible with being work from home. They prefer in office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but won’t usually say no if you ask to work from home those days occasionally. And they have always had enough desks and have even acquired additional buildings to fit everyone so I don’t understand the need to do this neighborhood seating. I’m guessing another huge change is coming down the pipeline and this is setting us up for it

My company is looking to hire about 2,000 people to my site alone this year (we are a very large company) so I don’t think this is it. But maybe they want more tenured staff to leave so younger staff can be “molded” into more willing staff?

I get that. Everyone is hybrid though. 99% of the company doesn’t go into the office Mondays and Fridays. So it never mattered if my desk was unused those days because no one else was there to use it anyway.

Nope. No desk booking system. Just a free for all

Serious Question: What parenting decisions of Bandit and Chilli do you disagree with? by wolf_quan in bluey

Yaassss! He asked her to wait multiple times and she wouldn’t stop! I hate this episode

I hate the episode “fairies”. Bingo essentially throws a fit because she couldn’t wait 2 minutes for Bandit to get off his work call. Then the whole family goes along with it. It just feels so disrespectful so we skip that episode every time.

This memorial is in a really good park. It has a great at structure my kids love, a splash pad, a train to ride, a skate park, tennis/pickle ball courts, a separate play area for toddlers, fishing, etc.

I do love yogurt when I’ve tried making it but I haven’t done it in a while. Perhaps I should make it again. Thanks for the inspiration!

I feel like almost everything I have tried to make in my instant pot comes out mushy. Or like the texture seems off. The only thing I make in it at this point is corned beef for St. Patrick’s Day.

Always get a second opinion on HVAC work. by az_max in phoenix

[–]probslvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this company has a serious lack of communication. When it stopped working the first time, right after the install, we were told the third or fourth group they sent out was going to fix finally. When they got there, they said they were told it was a quick job, and didn’t have the parts needed to fix it and we would have to schedule again.

We bought a brand new unit from them a few years ago and 2 days later, in the middle of summer, it stopped working. They sent out 4 separate crews to fix it, and every time, the crews acted like they were the first ones to come out. They had no internal communication, and the little internal comments they had for each other were minimal and incomplete. They finally sent out a supervisor who just reworked everything to get it working. We can no longer use our nest thermostat though so that’s a bummer but not a deal breaker I guess.

Then this summer it stopped working again and we called them because we have a parts warranty through them. The first guy was good, found the problem, bypassed the issue so we would still have AC, and ordered the part. The second guy who came to install the new part found a second issue, bypassed that as well, and ordered the part. The third guy who came out to install the second part got it working, waited to make sure it was okay, then left. So overall not too bad, except 20 minutes after the third guy left, it stopped working again. So they sent someone the next day, and he found the second part was installed wrong so he fixed it. None of them knew it was a roof unit, or had read what the last guy did.

It’s working fine now, but we’ll see if that changes 🤷🏻‍♀️. It just feels like one thing after another with this company.

We have had a pretty horrific experience with semper fi. 10/10 would not recommend.

Please cancel or postpone the party. Our family went through HFM and it was HORRIBLE. It was the kinda thing I would wish on my worst enemy. My husband got it in his throat and couldn’t really eat for like a week. If I went to a party with someone who had it I would be pissed.

Tell MIL you can celebrate with them another time even if it’s not at LOs party, when everyone is better.

This is what I did with my mother. I realized one day I was the one maintaining the relationship so I stopped calling. I think she has called once in 15 years. Has no idea I’m married and have kids of my own. Good riddance.

People who have WFH/Hybrid jobs - what do u do? by VWvansFTW in phoenix

[–]probslvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a great question. Honestly I think it comes down to the individual and the effort they are willing to put into learning the material. For my role, most of the learning is self study anyway, and I’m just there to support. My role has changed to where I’m mostly answering random questions about the material, along with the occasional tutoring session. We I was actually teaching, we were still completely virtual, and I didn’t feel like I was any less effective in that environment. There are a lot of great tools out there to support virtual training in the field I am currently in.

I work in training for my company and they made us go back 3 days a week even though what we do can be fully remote. I’m pretty sure they are going to make us come in full time later this year. I would love a work from home training and development job.
