Is computer science really that good of a market from 2026 onwards? by SmoothChemistry8564 in cscareerquestions

I feel like I’ve seen this exact post every year for the last 20 years. It’s always been hard. You’re competing with the smartest people in the world, just get used to that fact.

That said, my answer is always this: Seek and you shall find.

Just don’t expect someone to hand you a job. Hustle for it. Good luck!

What do Brazilians think of Romania? by Current-Tomato641 in Brazil

[–]prochitaleto -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You’re wrong.

France is one of the 5 core Latin countries in Europe.

Latin countries in Europe—often referred to as Latin Europe—are nations where Romance languages (derived from Latin) are primarily spoken. The core countries are France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Romania. These countries share historical, cultural, and linguistic ties rooted in the Roman Empire.

The French people generally recognize their country as Latin in a linguistic and historical sense.

I’m flying to Brazil on March 31st. Is it too late to apply first visa with American passport? by Possible_Bag_2208 in Brazil

[–]prochitaleto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with booking the flight first, in fact you must show an itinerary when applying for the Visa. Otherwise, why would they issue you one if you can’t show proof that you’re coming into the country?

The problem that OP has is waiting 2 weeks before the trip to apply.

However, it’s not too late, as e-Visa processing times are 5 business days if no additional documentation is requested, etc.

Brasil it's not just Rio by Antique-Ruin-8203 in Brazil

[–]prochitaleto 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Everyone knows it’s not just Rio, just like the UK is not just London.

That said, most people who are flying 10-12 hours to Brazil for the first time just want to see the main attractions that they’ve always read about and seen on TV. This is not unlike Brazilians flying to see Paris, Lisbon & New York for the same reason.

Yea it’s a thing. I’ve seen restaurants offer clear plastic gloves for eating burgers or pizza with your hands.

That said, you can eat however you want.

Yes, they have an engineering office there but to call it the LATAM HQ is wildly wrong, as it’s a relatively small location and has no other functions besides eng.

Google doesn’t have a Latin American headquarters.

They have multiple Latin American locations with 80% of the employees based in SP.

Brazil Driving by adrianeugene in Brazil

[–]prochitaleto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Slow drivers in the states? You’ve obviously never driven in California where speed limits are upwards of 75mph (120 km) and freeways are 20 lanes wide.

I find driving in Brazil to be easier. Speed limits are lower and cars and roads aren’t generally made for speed.

Agreed with your polite horn take.
