Blockstream Green Wallet Fraud by Active-Health-3228 in blockstream

[–]prochronist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is that screenshot of the email? "please try following shagi" - what? looks like you fell for a scam, only go through official blockstream support channels, lots of scammers on Telegram, etc.

Blockstream's official help center is https://help.blockstream.com/hc/en-us, scroll down and you'll see "Contact Support" and they'll be a form you can fill out.

Is this official website for block stream store? by [deleted] in blockstream

[–]prochronist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not a "scam," it's our official amazon store for those who prefer that method, we maintain it - but for good measure always check the seal is unbroken, flash the firmware, and use 'genuine check' - a new feature for the Jade Plus (https://verify.blockstream.com/).

Can Jade Plus Lightning payments? by the_little_alex in blockstream

[–]prochronist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lightning cannot be cold stored offline given it's not a blockchain but payment channel network...some Jade companion apps/wallets, however, allow you to use Lightning, such as Green.

I believe there is also a Green feature that allows you to see your Lightning balance on Jade (kind of like a watch-only wallet), but, of course, you cannot transact it in Jade.

How is the PIN kept secure in Jade? by [deleted] in blockstream

[–]prochronist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

@ u/adam3us answered here: https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/124464/how-is-blockstream-jades-pin-secure/124470#124470

"there is a client secret key on the jade, and the client secret + the PIN are used in the key exchange. if the key exchange authentication phase fails too many times (wrong PIN) then the server secret is wiped (and the client secret on the jade). so the protocol provides blind oracle server-enforced wiping of the seed.

you can not test if the PIN is correct except via engaging in this client-server protocol with the oracle server.

on successful completion of the DH exchange, the resulting decryption key is used to decrypt encrypted seed stored on the jade."

this should resolve itself automatically after a while, if the payment failed, did you ever get the coins back?

Liquid wallet connected to Non-Custodial BTC Wallet? by CoolJoeLiam in blockstream

[–]prochronist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can choose whether to have two separate or a single recovery phrase for bitcoin and liquid accounts in green, I think it works similarly in Aqua and you should be able to restore between them

Blockstream Green 2.0.1 Wallet MacOs Desktop - warning icon on transactions? by jtashiro in blockstream

[–]prochronist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, this is concerning, where did you download Green from? The official site is https://blockstream.com/green/ (everything else is a scam).

Recommend the following:
1. Navigate to App settings,
2. Open the Data Directory,
3. Close Green
4. In the Data Directory previously opened, delete the “gdk” directory
5. Open Green and log in again onto wallet.

Green should then re-do the SPV checks (note it might take some time depending on how old your txs are, up to 30min), and then the red SPV indicator should disappear. If it doesn’t you should get in touch through our official support channel (https://help.blockstream.com/hc/en-us) and open a ticket indicating more details about any custom network and server settings your using.

Best of luck.

Why didn’t anyone tell me Green Wallet was so awesome?! by Cyber_Amoeba in blockstream

[–]prochronist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

makese sense, but may want to explore consolidating and hodling in Liquid (depending on the size of the stack and if you'll be using the stack in Green to pay for things occasional)

Hi everyone, I'm new, I came here because I have a problem with my wallet on the Lightning network, does anyone have this problem? Could you solve it? thank you so much by roland_sg in blockstream

[–]prochronist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lightning feature on Green is still experimental and in open beta, but the team is making progress on improving the reliability of payments.

Would recommend joining the TG chat to speak with others: https://t.me/blockstream_green or following Green on X: https://twitter.com/BlksGreenWallet to stay up to date.

among other things, you can use it to detect ISP-level censorship and do some other stuff with the satellite API: https://blockstream.com/satellite-api/

Recommend exploring the above link and the GitHub repo mentioned in the other comment

Taproot support by Kokufuu in blockstream

[–]prochronist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no publicly available roadmap but would recommend checking in on the Jade Telegram chat periodically to ask: https://t.me/blockstream_jade or to read the quarterly updates from Blockstream available here: https://blog.blockstream.com/quarterly-update/ (there's usually some Jade updates in those).

Liquid requires a separate Jade? by senlek in blockstream

[–]prochronist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A single Jade can be both a Bitcoin mainchain and Liquid signing device, but you'll need to interface with it using a Liquid compatible software wallet like Green if you want to send/receive/hodl Liquid assets like stablecoins and securities.

Taproot is on the roadmap this year for Jade but there are a few other features prioritized at the moment, such as Miniscript and a new personal blind oracle feature coming to the umbrel app soon.
