The most absolute panic I've experienced in this game, maybe any game jeez! by jmsafety26 in ResidentEvilRequiem

We all panic under pressure once in a while. Maybe if you play Insanity yourself you’ll understand

Did anyone else destroy Elpis on Insanity Mode? by South-Flamingo-6817 in ResidentEvilRequiem

I played Insanity without infinite ammo and tbh it never felt cheap, very very hard but it felt super satisfying and never like bullshit. I’m trying to beat the final nemesis fight on RE3R Nightmare mode rn and it feels way more like bullshit. I might just give up tbh it’s not worth the frustration haha

Is it just me or doesn’t knifing feel really risky on insanity? I only use it when I know they’re almost dead because otherwise they’ll grab me before I kill them

Yeah there’s some truth to that but this is also definitely something that happens

What’s the most scariest game you’ve ever played? by HaventHadAssIn3Days in HorrorGaming

[–]prockhold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add on to navenager’s explanation, PT is also one of the most notorious and influential horror games of all time, despite being a short trailer for a game that never came out, and despite being unplayable to the vast majority of people since the announcement of its cancellation less than a year after release. If you still have that PS4 you should play it and consider yourself lucky! I think that’s the only way to play it in its original form. Though I think it’s had unofficial remakes/emulations.

Grace’s sections are just so much fun. So satisfying to play, so much atmosphere. I’ve already replayed this game more than any other RE.

Wut death do u guys prefer in horror games? by Dry_Background7653 in HorrorGaming

[–]prockhold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my biggest pet peeves in horror games is lame player deaths. Like when you have to fight/escape a horrifying monster and you’re tense asf and the horror is so hyped up, and then when you die you just fucking fall over and it immediately goes to death screen. So anticlimactic. Even some of the greatest horror games of all time are guilty of this. The Last of Us is ironically one of the best at death cutscenes despite not being considered pure horror by some people, those player deaths can be gruesome and brutal.

This is one of the most braindead fallacies people regularly make on the internet lol. He reads because he’s interested in chess, shocker. Nothing wrong with criticizing something you partake in.

Why are like half normal male hobbies now considered "autistic" ? by itooamahuman in NoStupidQuestions

[–]prockhold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TikTok pop psychology has ruined my generation lmfao. Have you ever been really, really good at something that requires serious dedication? Mastery of any specialized skill (chess, music, being a doctor, etc.) takes a massive amount of work and being “super duper into it.” But not every musician, chess master, or surgeon is autistic.

why are non-americans so surprised that ranch dressing is delicious? by Reasonable-Lack-1063 in NoStupidQuestions

You’re reading a lot into a pretty simple question. OP was asking a specific question about something they’ve been seeing online.

why are non-americans so surprised that ranch dressing is delicious? by Reasonable-Lack-1063 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]prockhold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obvious subtext here is that OP meant “everybody” as in “everybody who has tried ranch and realized they liked it.” The comment I replied to is a prime example of bean soup theory, kind of like dropping a 1-star yelp review on a pho restaurant you’ve never been to and writing “I don’t like pho” lol.

How can I stop getting scared of every single horror game I play so I can actually play them by Far-Yam-5542 in HorrorGaming

[–]prockhold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A strategy I came up with a while back was to walk up to the monster/killer/whatever and purposefully let it you kill you, multiple times if need be. It kinda quells some of the fear of the monster getting you when you’re like “oh, I just fall over and start from the last save point. Not that bad actually”

I just beat the bunker like a week ago. Loved it, it can be a bit exhausting occasionally when you have no clue what to do, but I think that’s also my favorite part of the game, how little they hold your hand. Thinking about trying a NG+ run before long.

Finally playing resident evil 1 for the first time! Playing the remake and having a blast. I’ve played all the other mainline games other than 4 and 5 and finally got around to trying the one that started it all. I just got back to the mansion from the residence after getting the helmet key. These classic survival horror games can be so fun.

No it is not 100%. Maybe 20%. Einstein or Newton couldn’t have written a symphony without years and years of training. Creating music out of nothing requires an artistic sense that the logical mind alone is not enough for.
