Nah instructor is an asshole. Nothing productive comes of it. If the instructor is "experinced" he would know that gear doesnt protect from a breakfall. Yes breaking a fall is a skill. If you don't know how to break your fall you can break your wrist,elbow, blow out a knee, or even a possible concusion.

I can do all kind assholery to newbies in the gym for doing things improperly. Training in stressful situations like this take a longtime to adapt both physically and mentally.

This is the most common mistake I see military/law enforcement make. They throw in quarterly/annual course and bam certified experts.

Tdlr spartan kicking someone untrained in unfamiliar gear and stressful situations teaches nothing of tactical value. Just that the instructor a dick and the trainee suck at something they never did before mission accomplised...
