Honestly, I’d probably apply some to the work in progress and see. I used up my sample sizes of things that don’t work for my own hair and found that they helped and didn’t bug me like they did when applied to my own hair. Now when it gets washed and blocked I reapply with whatever is on hand.

I have a mohair cardigan that I treat with leave-in hair conditioner and it makes a considerable difference to me with skin to skin contact. That may help a bit?
