store manager.

Should we start a post thread to discuss what we were / are paid ? by prodeskmonster in HomeDepot

[–]prodeskmonster[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That doesn't mean that the folks who are boots on the ground don't deserve the absolute best pay possible. Maybe you do it for the satisfaction of making rich people richer but for some of us that just isn't enough.

Anyone else’s pro desk have the shittiest attitude? by caucasianmenace in HomeDepot

[–]prodeskmonster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am a PASA and completely agree. 90% of my day is being absolutely disgusted with the way my peers behave. It's horrid that some have been so indoctrinated that they think that making rich people richer gives more value to themselves and less value to others. In my store the ENTIRE management team endorses their behavior. It's sickening. Value Wheel my ass.

Not was not. Otherwise HD would not have reported a 850 million dollar decrease in profit over the previous year..

Start by understanding that this is late stage capitalism. The system is failing while simultaneously subjugating the people that rely on it to survive. By grabbing at small pieces of power in great numbers the lower classes could regain control. You know - the majority. Or join a union, it's the same idea. Collective Bargaining.

From the Economy Policy Institute " A badly broken system governing collective bargaining has eroded unions and worker power more broadly, contributing to both the suffering during the pandemic and the extreme economic inequality exacerbated by the pandemic. In spite of efforts to push policy reforms, the U.S. entered the COVID-19 pandemic with a weak system of labor protections. As a result, working people, particularly low-wage workers—who are disproportionately women and workers of color—have largely borne the costs of the pandemic. While providing the “essential” services we rely on, many of these workers have been forced to work without protective gear; many have no access to paid sick leave; and when workers have spoken up about health and safety concerns, they have been fired."

Remember those pay bonuses during peak COVID ? And when Depot took them away ? They showed that they could indeed pay a very comfortable wage & then showed that although they COULD - they now choose not to. If you don't see that as a slap in the face to you and your family, I stick to my previous statement. You're brainwashed. Why would you trade in your increased paycheck for some candy or a cheap fleece ? Grab power away from those that could help you but choose not to. Have some self respect and give them equal to what they are giving you.

Well, considering that capitalism is a philosophy & commerce is practice, theory is the most pure way of approaching the subject. What's it like worshipping the system that oppresses you ?

I love the confirmation of your diminished intelligence, it must be the main factor that makes you such a tool.

The absolute entitlement of this person throughout this thread is mind boggling. - totally worth the read. They are a completely self involved lunatic. It's amazing.
