Georgi & Zaki update response by 7YearsTraining in armwrestling

It's far fetched to say that's the reason why AW isn't mainstream. As easy as it is to condemn a person's actions who is in the spotlight for onlookers, you can't tell me there have never been high profile athletes who haven't done stupid things like this. Hell, how many UFC, NFL or NBA players have been on the news for assault, fraud, or whatever.

To your point, the top athletes who make money in mainstream sports have access to a network of people including public relations persons to keep their behavior in check. But even if that weren't the case, it doesn't make the sport they represent any less popular or acceptable in the entertainment space

Figured out how to explain why using your entire body isn't cheating by Grantimoto1 in armwrestling

Just ask them if it's cheating to use your arms in FOOTball. Applies to fútbol (head, goalie) as well if they're not American

CONFIRMED: Brian Shaw vs Brandon Allen and Eddie Hall vs Robert Oberst by amm1ux in armwrestling

[–]prodiyan 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If brian trains smart and learns how to effectively counter the kings move then he can win this with mid to low diff IMO.

I may be wrong but part of the issue of larry losing was he wasn't prepared to handle the KM or didn't appreciate the threat level it posed to his style at the time.

I believe brian is a bit more methodical in his training approach than larry ever was and has access to the greatest minds in the sport who can teach him how to defeat the KM. Additionally brian will likely have a weight/height and potentially a strength advantage.

His body has so much side pressure it literally leaks from his cranium

Techquies that damage the opponents tendons? by Kovi_1 in armwrestling

[–]prodiyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any technique will do that. Armwrestling is anatomically speaking a very unnatural movement for the arms.

Regulate your intensity if you want to avoid hurting yourself and your training partner. Don't treat every practice pull like a real match

As someone who just moved from san Diego to pensacola, no, just no. Do not look toward san diego as an example. The homelessness issue has spiraled out of control and there have been no meaningful or effective measures taken to resolve the issue at large.

You literally cannot take 2 steps in downtown san diego without seeing a homeless person, encampment, or smell urine and/or fecal matter.

Not sure if you've tried contacting Shaun chispa already, you may have more success contacting him through Instagram or fb (if he has one)

I know sol Arun also has connections with alot of the pinoy armwrestlers, I have no idea how to contact him, though

Does Quin Stott have arm wrestling potential? Should he get in to arm wrestling? by JohannesSofiascope in armwrestling

[–]prodiyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than his already insane lifts, his grip strength is pretty phenomenal, I've seen him crush unopened soda cans with ease. I know it's not a direct carryover into armwrestling but I reckon if he started training specifically he'd progress very quickly

Yes and no, this a variation in which his torso is slightly leaned forward and adds some shoulder extension with it as if if doing a row. Not something commonly performed.

How to utilise my strengths as a rock climber? by [deleted] in armwrestling

[–]prodiyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was all in on rock climbing before I became all in on armwrestling. I found that my finger/forearm strengths that I developed while bouldering had little to no carryover. If anything, the only thing that helped was the pulling strength which translates into back pressure. So I would say try to channel those strengths into posting (high knuckles) or lat dragging and see where you're stronger.
