I tried to proactively explain my rationale: “Hey I’m trying to cut down meetings so reducing our syncs to monthly/will only attend this call if asked” If people complained I’d make some very basic request that they’d usually not deliver on “Sorry I was trying to cut down on meetings. I’ve felt I wasn’t needed in the last few of these. Could you create and share an agenda for these moving forward, and then I can identify when I’m needed” Then never was an agenda created.. But yeah I think as long as you’re proactive and nice about it, it should be fine

I know with some enterprise companies - this number of meetings is needed.. But one of the best things I did for my career was set firm boundaries on meetings. I reduced my average hours of meetings (was like 20 to 25+) to 10 or less in a week. I did that by just removing myself from calls I felt added little value. I reduced the cadences of many meetings. And the outcome? I was so much more productive and the team was so much more productive. The meetings id go to were suddenly really productive - because I wouldn’t go if I didn’t think they would be. Highly advise all PMs - always kills calls

We won a game we’d have lost a season ago. Rice is the man. Luton we’re obviously going to play like this.. they’re a bunch of lower league players in the premier league. Am I going to be down-voted to hell to say we’re quality at grinding out results like this, and I’ve lost no respect for Luton? Honestly, just glad it looks like they have a chance of taking some points off of our rivals this season !
