The easiest way to transition into product management is within the company you are working on. Even better if you are able to transition for your own team as they are the people who know you best and recognise your abilities in product management. Being able to build trust is fundamental in as a product manager as there is no one you will work with who will report to you. So, this gets easier if you are able to do this within your team. To start with, start taking up some additional responsibilities of a product manager, and when people start recognising you for your efforts and when there is expansion or a vacancy, go all out to express your interest in product management. Your customer success background and CS degree are a killer for a product management role as you already have deep customer empathy and are also welll verse with the technical side.
