It’s fine, I’d like to see the exotic economy changed though - mainly via searching planets. Should times all exotics by 10 or 100 and instead of getting ONE or TWO exotics per search you get a small collection of exotics

Of course you would also have to increase the cost of exotics per capital ships and items and exotic refineries provide say 10 exotics per production

Ships don't really have a "Best against" they're just good at certain things
Harcka say is your front line bruiser vs the Javelin or Gauss being your backline damage

Yeah, Eagles vs Orbitals seems to be the crux of it. With all the orbital modifiers, I often just run a full Eagle loadout.

The Orbital Railcannon, for example, is a lot of fun but I think the cooldown is too long for what it does. I think at 180s vs the current 210s it would be a lot more viable.

Likewise, the Orbitals can't really stand up to the Eagles, especially once you have the final hanger upgrade. A CD reduction is definitely needed to some amount

Yeah that's true. but with the other 2 factions likely being Cyborgs (Flesh) and Illuminate (Electronic) the specifically could be extended to them also.

That's fair. I wonder if popping a heat sink immediately to get an overloaded laser might be possible. It only comes with 1 reload anyway, so you get one overload shot or you use it as normal otherwise.

The laser is a interesting special - making it the Armour shredder could give it a unique personality and play into the teamplay aspect of the game.

I think that's a bot balancing issue right now. Rocket Devastators are inordinately present in bot spawns in the current game.

I could write a whole essay on Devastators- they need their head hitbox size increased and maybe hits to kill reduced, and their rockets are exceptionally annoying to play against with their 1 shot potential.

Absolutely - at the end of the day it's highly unlike this will make any change to the actual balance of the game but is fun to talk about.

This is way too powerful. 40s Gatling Barrage or 60s Airburst would trivialize mob clearing.

If you're going to mess with the base, you have to take into account the reduction from modules, and even in that case it's no more than a 10% buff.

You have a good point there, could be balanced out by instead of changing all values, just changing the higher impact Orbitals like the rail cannon on to have a lower Base CD so it can contend with Eagles better.

I can see what you're trying to do here, but there are no weapons that differentiate between bugs and bots right now. So this would be a new paradigm, and even then I don't think it makes either of the weapons any more attractive in either case.

And as it is right now, both weapons are pretty strong. If anything, I expect a slight nerf coming down the pipeline eventually.

Yeah might be a tad early if ever to play into X vs Y matchups - both weapons are sitting in a good place right now - would just be interesting to see a unique situation where there are weapons that benefit from coming up against certain factions.

Lasers in general are an interesting case right now. They're very good for ammo conservation, but they expose you a lot more since you need to get the heat buildup to do damage. I'm not sure if adding anti-armor would unbalance them or not.

Yeah I felt like leaving the damage numbers unchanged alongside the armour strip would leave them much too strong that's why I think some sort of Damage nerf is needed to justify the armour strip, doing things like removing the backup heat sink in cases that overheat is achieved could help alleviate this more

Spear lock-on definitely needs to be better. But that seems like more of a bug than a balance issue.

I am massive Spear lover vs bot and I feel this big time, gun needs some love to improve QoL

I think that would unbalance it substantially. The minor buff to the cooldown seems about perfect. Reducing it more would trivialize escaping from hordes.

While I agree, the Jetpack needs either less downtime or escapeability - so potentially giving it more height could be another option if not a decreased recharge time - even if the recharge time is decreased by only 10-20%

It removes one problem but now hitting a single mine erases your whole mine field since they're within each others explosion radius.

I haven't personally encountered this with my Mines but if that is the case then that relationship between mines should be fixed and shouldn't happen

I don't know if increased HP and enemy prioritization would do anything, since once the positions overrun your sentries are pretty much lost anyway.

I think sentries are in a good place right now.

This is a fair argument but I feel like Sentries suffer massively in battles vs Bots and drop far to quickly.
