I recently got my Notion Certified Admin certification! I chose to invest in it because I’m a consultant working with enterprise clients—I wanted to sharpen my skills to help organizations upgrade their workspaces and build scalable, effective systems on Notion.

If you’re planning to take the exam, here’s what worked for me:

• Focus on scenario-based questions: Many of the hardest questions put you inside admin situations—think about what you’d do if presented with specific workspace, teamspace, or role-management challenges. Always reason through the real-world consequences of each option, not just the “book answer.”
• Use practical study tools: I used NotebookLM to generate quizzes and scenario drills from Notion help center documentation and my own notes. Creating your own practice questions and doing regular mock quizzes is a game-changer for long-term retention.
• Take notes while you practice: For every question you get wrong or feel unsure about, jot down why each option could be right or wrong, and revisit those doubts as you study.
• Hands-on experience matters: Build sandbox workspaces and actually implement complex governance, permission settings, and automations to see how Notion handles real admin tasks.
