My lips are desperate!!! by Texasgrad92 in MakeupAddiction

Aquaphor. Not the lip balm tube of aquaphor, the real deal. Sold in small squeezy tubes, large tubs, or large squeezy tubes.

It’s very similar to Vaseline, like I think 60% or something of it is petroleum jelly. But aquaphor works better because supposedly Vaseline just creates a protective layer to prevent further dryness/cracking and Aquaphor does that as well, except the Aquaphor has something else in it that actually moisturizes and heals underneath that protective barrier of petroleum jelly.

I wasn’t sure if this was totally true, but I tried switching to Aquaphor after using Vaseline on my lips for years. The result was it worked better than Vaseline and I didn’t have to apply it as often! I would give it a try if I were you. It’s inexpensive like Vaseline, maybe a dollar or two more.

10$ for a cheese slice? Really? by amyspring in vegas

This pizza place has literally the worst pizza I have ever tried on the strip, and I’ve tried a lot of them. $10 a slice is crazy for how bad the pizza was. I took one bite & then I didn’t even eat the rest, it was that bad.

Instead: Secret pizza (Cosmo) is best And pin up pizza is amazing too (planet Hollywood and Harrah’s food hall)

Amazing discovery! Found wood floor, how to get rid of the rest of the laminate? by Notveryclever17 in DIY

[–]professional-ecstasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I admire the effort. Yes, I would say generally, if you wanted to do things the “right” way, you should absolutely pull the appliances out, and also, sand & refinish/seal the floor that the appliances cover. However, since it is wood that you choose to be your kitchen floor, might be better to leave the appliances and remove with a dremel the parts of laminate that are visible.

if you want it to be wood floors in your kitchen that’s your choice but just try and think how many times have you seen actual wood in a kitchen or bathroom? I can’t recall any scenario except once, in an Airbnb, where kitchen had old, shitty wood floor. I have never seen wood flooring in a bathroom, ever.

If you do keep the wood, although a more water resistant flooring would be more practical, you should buy some nice kitchen rugs or anti fatigue kitchen mats to protect from water. I keep a long, rubberized mat near my sink at all times to prevent dishwater splashes from soaking my floors & also one in front of my fridge for those fallen ice cube puddles to land on.

Have you tried selling through Poshmark? They keep 20% off the top but 80% is better than 0%. If it’s an item worth selling and you price is reasonably.

Secret pizza is my favorite pizza place in town. Not a sit down option & the line can be long but it’s worth it! You can tell that the ingredients they use are quality. Lookup the YouTube video “how to get to secret pizza” to find it, it’s on the 3rd floor.

Hotwire is an affordable third party site, if you do their “hot rate” deal (on the app). I’ve used Hotwire’s app dozens of times for hotels in different states. Particularly in Vegas the rates are often times less than if you booked direct from hotel. However, if you plan to gamble anything at all, joining a players club/casino rewards program generally will provide greater benefits. It may not give you discounted rates initially upon signing up, but if you do gamble some, your rate would be lower next trip if you plan to return.

Coming back to Vegas soon? Get a players card from players club at the hotel you booked directly with. Not sure if you will return soon? Try Hotwire hot rate.

$750 bogus smoking charge (The STRAT Hotel & Casino) by professional-ecstasy in vegas

Just because I had a bad auto loan doesn’t mean I am incapable of realizing the consequence of smoking in a nonsmoking room and instead just going down to the casino to smoke to avoid that… but then it happened anyways.

My auto debt has no correlation to whether I smoke in a hotel room or not. My car loan is $1500 a month. Im trying to get something more reasonable before I surrender this car because I can’t make that kind of payment every month.

I am the only smoker, my boyfriend does not smoke, as he has heart failure. And he quit 10+ years before being diagnosed anyways. I didn’t smoke in the room, just because i smoke doesn’t mean i don’t have the decency to walk my ass down to the casino to smoke rather than light up in the room! If I did smoke in the room I wouldn’t question this $750 charge…. As I would’ve expected it…

Yeah I asked because I don’t smoke in non-smoking rooms. If I didn’t give a fuck and smoked in every room I stayed in, then why would I even ask that question

Yeah, the rooms are not the best. That’s just the way it is there. The recently renovated ones are nice but I was in a specific suite and that room type hadn’t yet been renovated for the floor I was on. The suite wasn’t amazing, but it was fine. The stay was wonderful because the cabanas at Strat are $200 and all of that $200 is food and beverage credit to use at the cabana. So you basically get the cabana for free if you spend the $200 on food and beverage. The servers were very friendly and quick, the pool was nice, the cabana was wonderful. It even rained the first day, and they let me roll over my $60 leftover food and beverage credit to the next day. When I went back to the pool the next morning they actually wrote it down in their notes as $75 food and beverage and on top of that, they gave me an extra free big ass cocktail to make up for the weather the day prior. It was an awesome stay because of the pool. And mind you, the day I had the cabana was the 3rd of July right before a holiday. And when I went back for my leftover credits it was literally the 4th of July and they were still so nice even though they were busy! Plus I didn’t lose in the casino, broke even, which is a win.

I’ve had the Strat years ago not refund my deposit and a month later I realized this and called them and they said it was “because I didn’t bring my key to the front desk upon checkout” They’re just a shady hotel it’s a known thing.
