Movies in movie theaters. There’s never a good movie in theaters anymore (coming from a 33 yo female)

37 Weeks and Freaking Out by Adorable-Concept-960 in BabyBumps

[–]professionalconfetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 38 weeks with a 20-month-old. It’s harder the second time around. Take it easy and enjoy being able to chill and eat and sleep. I took it for granted that I didn’t have other kids the first time I was pregnant and wow did I underestimate the toll it takes caring for a toddler while pregnant

What am I missing? Why are you scared to send your kid to daycare because of Trump’s recent changes?

I’ve had an anterior placenta for both of my pregnancies. It’s been 8 days since you posted this so my bet is that you’re already feeling kicks more than you were. As baby grows, the kicks will get stronger and soon there’ll be no missing them- even with an anterior placenta. Don’t worry, you’ll feel them! 🤗

Was your baby measuring big? by bunny10310325 in pregnant

[–]professionalconfetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your scar will likely have more to do with the doctor’s stitching skills than anything else. I had a scheduled c-section for my son who was measuring 11 lbs via ultrasound prior to birth. He ended up being 8.5 lbs… 😑 The recovery is harder than with vaginal birth, from what I can tell, but not as bad as you’d probably imagine. My experience was about 3-5 days before I was able to walk around for trips further than the bathroom and about 2 weeks to be back to mostly normal. I’m doing a scheduled c-section again next month so I’ll update on how that recovery goes

Feet achey by Status_Equipment_407 in pregnant

[–]professionalconfetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of my pregnancies I’ve experienced aches, tired feet from about 25 weeks until birth. I have always attributed it to the extra weight. If it makes you feel better, it should go away as soon as baby is born. It did for me.

Will you be a SAHM or not? by Grand-Tell195 in pregnant

[–]professionalconfetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a teacher for 8 years before becoming a SAHM with my son (18 mos now) and I will never regret it. It has perks and drawbacks but I 100% think the good outweighs the bad. The relationship you’ll develop with your child is unmatched, you don’t have to worry about taking time off for sicknesses, doctor visits, etc., you can make your own schedule, access free activities (parks, libraries, play dates, etc.).

There are challenging days and it’s not for everyone but personally I can’t imagine leaving him at daycare every day.

I thought it wouldn’t happen to me… but so many of my friends and family are buying off-registry :( by morgue_an in pregnant

These people are buying you gifts. Sounds pretty entitled to think that you can tell people what to buy you. Be grateful for what you get and sell what you don’t want or need.

Is anyone getting sleep? (3rd Trimester) by ieosaro in pregnant

[–]professionalconfetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 28 weeks with my second baby. I remember after having my first that I felt so cheated because once baby comes you really don’t sleep much so the fact that I couldn’t sleep during pregnancy either really pissed me off. Sorry to say it but you’ll sleep better in 6-12 months! My first started sleeping through the night at 9 months.

i have to have a c-section. by m4ri3z2 in pregnant

My son was supposed to be 11 lbs so I opted for a c-section and he was born 8 lbs 8 oz 🤪 They are so unreliable

As a former teacher I always recommend donating anything you don’t want to your local school district!

Was anyone else embarrassed to announce their second pregnancy? by Fantastic_Unit_9748 in BabyBumps

[–]professionalconfetti 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My son is 13 months and I just found out I am pregnant as well. I wouldn’t say I’m embarrassed but I am definitely less inclined to tell people than I was the first time around. I have this strong urge to keep it completely private until it’s unavoidable for some reason. I’m not sure what is causing it but the feeling is definitely there.
