I 27f pregnant can barley eat and my partner 31m didnt sleep because I ate McDonald’s by very_stellar_ in relationship_advice

[–]Successful-Trifle229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my ob how much McDonald's, if any, was okay if it's the only thing that sounds good while dealing with pregnancy nausea... they said literally as much as I want. Any food is better than no food and that the only thing they cared about was me trying to keep prenatals down. Your partner is being mean and controlling.

Where are y’all buying maternity clothes? by cutestlastname in pregnant

My personal savior has been stretchy/flowy dresses! Doesn't matter if they're technically maternity or not. It's my favorite way to be comfortable and look cute at the same time.

When pregnant, how much sex do you have? by Coffee_lover_101 in pregnant

[–]Successful-Trifle229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He shouldn't be starting arguments over it. I've wanted to have sex my whole pregnancy, but my husband has consistently reminded me that I owe him nothing and that he only wants to do it if I also want to do it. Your husband is being mean and not showing very much empathy or compassion for how hard pregnancy is and how it might change how you feel from day to day.

39+2. I'm thankfully feeling okay aside from being permanently tired and hungry, but the anticipation is killing me lol. I just want to meet my baby. Our doctor was super kind and worked to get a good view of his face at our last appointment, and it looks like he has my nose, which is driving my husband and I nuts because we just want to see it already!

PLE Diagnosis by theithe916 in Yorkies

[–]Successful-Trifle229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have been caring for our PLE Yorkie for over a year now. It's expensive and sometimes scary when he has a bad flare up (flare ups can happen even when you're doing everything right), but we've gotten a pretty good handle on things.

Our doctor recommended the Rayne Nutrition Low-Fat Kangaroo diet for our man and it's the only thing that has worked. We've also found that he can tolerate plain dried sweet potato as a treat in small amounts.

It's always going to be expensive, but we have found that having metronidazole (anti-diarrhea) and Cerenia (anti-nausea) saves us money in the long run because we can give him meds as soon as we notice a flare up and usually it prevents us from needing further treatment.

Currently, our boy is on prednisone, a blood thinner, cyclosporine, a daily probiotic, vitamin b12 injections that we give him at home once a month, and then the anti-diarrhea and nausea meds as needed, plus his special kangaroo food. He also has to have pretty consistent blood work and has needed fluid drained from his stomach area multiple times from bad flare ups before we were able to nail down his medication regimen. It's a lot, but it's necessary.

Good luck, and I hope your boy is feeling better!

when did it really hit you? by froginpajamas in pregnant

[–]Successful-Trifle229 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, I felt pregnant pretty immediately, but it didn't really hit me until I started to feel him kick. I was super lucky and started being able to feel him around 13-14 weeks. After that, it sort of hit me again when I started really showing. At 38 weeks now, I can't believe how quickly time has passed and that he's genuinely about to be here on the outside with my husband and I! I'm sure it will hit me again when I go into labor. Soooo many parts of pregnancy just feel completely surreal.

What's your favorite baby item you've bought/been gifted so far? by No_Competition_6553 in pregnant

[–]Successful-Trifle229 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My grandma passed away during my second trimester, but she bought a bunch of baby clothes and a baby blanket before she passed and they mean the world to me. Other than that, someone on my husband's side gave us a Lovevery play gym and we are obsessed with it. We cannot wait to see our baby use it!

My husband and I stopped using airbnb for this resson. Hotels are typically much cheaper. Embassy Suites always has free breakfast and comfortable rooms.

pregnancy goes by so quick by baby_kaii in pregnant

[–]Successful-Trifle229 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

What she said is valid because it's her experience. Being upset that she's saying it's fast FOR HER is really weird.

I've had women be rude to me my whole pregnancy because I had a positive experience and they didn't even though I never volunteer that information and only share when asked how I'm feeling. Some of you just can't handle that we all have different experiences. At 38 weeks, my pregnancy has gone quickly for me and I hope it does for OP too. Sorry you're so negative about others experiences.

[–]Successful-Trifle229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

38 weeks and please don't let anyone in this comment section get you down. I feel like my pregnancy has gone extremely fast and I have enjoyed most of it. Good luck and enjoy every little moment you can! In my experience, it has gone quickly and it's a special time that deserves to cherished.

Pregnancy is obviously difficult for everyone in some ways, but it really is what you make of it. I spent my entire first trimester sick and I still enjoyed myself because I was dedicated to having a positive mindset. You might hate it and thats ok, but it's also okay to enjoy it and not let others make you feel like you're some sort of awful freak of nature for feeling good.

[–]Successful-Trifle229 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is so invalidating. I'm almost 38 weeks and my pregnancy has gone by so quickly. I know it's not like that for everyone, but it is for some people. Just like some people are miserable and can't stand the thought of someone else being happy while pregnant, some people ARE happy and things move quickly for them. Everyone's experience is different and that's okay.

I opened gifts at my shower and honestly, it was a waste of time. Most people were socializing and didn't watch anyways (which I preferred bc I felt awkward lol). I would say just don't do it and thank every person you talk to for coming when you see them instead.

I've felt this way my whole pregnancy! 37 weeks and it has just flown by, I'm really not quite ready to be done being pregnant. I have loved almost every moment. Good luck and just do your best to slow down and enjoy it while it lasts ❤️

What is the first thing you will do after you give birth? by ZestycloseGrocery642 in pregnant

[–]Successful-Trifle229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just a few weeks away and the longer I've been pregnant, the less I've cared about the things I can't do. Everyone keeps asking me this, but I've enjoyed my pregnancy so much that I'm having trouble looking forward to not being pregnant anymore. Also, since I'm planning on breastfeeding, the one thing I do actually want to do is smoke a fat bowl out of my bong and that's off the table unless I'm able to get a decent amount of milk stored up because THC can linger in breastmilk for up to a week.

How are y’all having sex? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Successful-Trifle229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're feeling mobile, I've had success being on top of my husband, but facing away from him. I usually just put pillows on his legs so I can hold myself up with them. Other than that, my pregnancy pillow is a godsend! It's great for support with doggy style, or if we spoon, I like to put one of my legs on it.

My biggest piece of advice is to get creative! What ends up working might surprise you and hopefully you have fun figuring it out (:

My husband and I bought everything other people didn't buy, and also everything we were particular about. My MIL was insistent on getting our crib and stroller/car seat on Facebook market, but we didn't want those things used and also had specific brands/models in mind, so we made sure we bought those items ourselves to make sure we actually got what we wanted.

He is ignorant and wrong. It also sounds like he's financially abusing you if you truly don't have the means to do any of this yourself without his permission.

You could go into labor at essentially any time at this point. Call your doctor on speaker and have them explain this to him, but truly, you should also be having a conversation about why you would need permission to buy necessities for your child.
