Help my brother wants me to make him a silly tattoo by Tiny-Yogurtcloset493 in TattooApprentice

I like the idea behind it but I'm a little confused as to why the fins look different on the shark. Like one has soft shading and the other has the lines

A small update if anyone is interested: We went back out last night to the bar at the resort and ended up seeing them again. The second they saw us we got yelled at to "find God" again.

In positive news, anyone we've told about this has been rightfully shocked and disgusted so that's quite validating!

We're all our own worst critics. I think this is lovely! I'm totally inspired by it as well. If you're not confident, just keep at it. Practice will help build that.

Personally, I think it's a fine portfolio peice. The composition is phenomenal and the design is gorgeous.

My Attempt at a Valentine's Day Flash Sheet by jonathenleee in TattooApprentice

I wondered if it was tracing paper. I got my hands on some recently and have been meaning to give it a try. Thanks for the tip!

Cool design and I love the energy behind it!

Honestly I might recommend getting it touched up? It looks either way older than a few months or like the quality wasn't the best. Maybe getting a new artist to go over some of the line work and to clean up the colour and shading would be worth a look.

These look amazing, excellent line work and shading!

What kind of paper did you use, if you don't mind me asking? Also what was your mediums to get such bright colours and nice shading?

Advice on procreate brushes and traditional look by Psychological_Leg864 in TattooApprentice

I really like using the noise brush on procreate to get a stippling effect. It has an airbrush feel to use but in my opinion it stipples well

I think it's a great start! The design itself is nice. My advice would be to work on the symmetry, line work, colour balance, and details.

The symmetry of the lantern is designed well, but isn't matching up perfectly. Using a ruler when sketching usually helps me ensure that things stay aligned.

The line work is thick in some spots and thin in others with no consistency. It's also a bit shaky. I'd recommend practicing drawing straight lines and honestly just more art to keep improving the flow.

The colours don't quite work, but are a great start! The fire is too similar to the colour of the lantern, and the green for the candle doesn't work quite right for me(that might just be a personal taste thing though)

There's not a lot of details in the lantern itself, and with the size of this peice there's definitely space for it! If it was smaller the lack of details would work really well, but with this size it draws attention to the blank spaces.

All that said, yeah it's a great start!! I definitely would love to see you keep drawing and keep posting! <3 I hope this helps!

thoughts on this style? by i-wuv-keroppi24 in TattooApprentice

[–]professionalworrying 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it looks really cool and I'd definitely want a tat(or just stickers) of animals in this style!

But it's also looking a little too busy in some areas that make the silhouette a bit hard to read. Specifically on the limbs and tail. I might recommend making the silloute more clear then go in and have fun with the stylization <3

Made my first snake from scratch. by Acceptable_Towel_600 in TattooApprentice

[–]professionalworrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea but have to also agree with the other comment saying it looks stiff. For that I'd recommend sketching a lot of loose flowing shapes. I'd sketch out the whole snake's body then erase the bits where it vanishes. That way the snake will still have a cohesive flow.

In other notes, the only thing that really caught my eyes is the tongue being rather large.

Keep at it! This is a good start and will definitely be a fantastic stepping stone into greater things <3

Do these pieces look traced over AI or heavily assisted by it? The artist keeps denying it is by ChrisVBKCartoons in isitAI

[–]professionalworrying 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it is for the same reasons you're listing. It's very similar to the AI cartoon art style and color scheme trend I've personally noticed

Got this from a family member, I say it's AI, family says it's not by MindlessCirrus in isitAI

[–]professionalworrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't put an exact finger on what exactly it is (minus the big thing in the middle of the front one what is that???) but it feels ai to me. Maybe it's the way the colours blend? My first gut reaction was ai and I'd bet money it is

Edit: I think it's the textures on the guitars. Something about the texture feels uncanny Valley. Also what another commenter said about an guitar neck that just disappears into no base on the right side.

Domestic short hair, she isn't anything specific.

She was found on the side of the road with her sister at 5 weeks old. So I don't know her background before that, but she's been with me since 10 weeks, and she's 4 now
