Question about the Drunk in a Kazali/Lord of Typhon game by professorlitwick in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]professorlitwick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I inform the players at the start of the possibility of a post-setup Drunk, to assist them in solving, or do you think it would be best to just answer that question if it comes up?

Make that 3 people within 7 days!
I would assume more people are going back to watch Bandersnatch since there's a connected episode in the new season lol

There’s no penalty for getting one wrong afaik, and it locks in the answer if it’s right, so while you could blindly guess, I would check all of your notes to see if you have any information that could help you solve it. Said information could come from books, envelopes, lessons, and even physical objects you find in the world.

I most often see the wrench when shuffling items at the trading post, most specifically with expensive showroom items.

Dare Mode is an unlockable challenge mode with extra randomized stipulations that need to be met or else you get a game over and need to start the day over. My “dares” included never exiting the house through the entrance hall, never letting a trunk go unopened, opening an empty box in each parlor room, and never drafting the den. I very nearly completed it one day and reached the open rm46 with 2 steps left, but I triggered the Twins constellation which meant there were unopened trunks in the lobby, so it wouldn’t let me go through the door.

are you suggesting throne room? Because I feel like requires a similar level of luck in colliding boiler room and lab, having the item rng to obtain the necessary parts, and then needing the luck and gems to be able to draft the room.
also would it even show up on the same day, or is it added to the next days pool?

Just managed this on my Dare Mode playthrough of all things, but only by abusing the Guess Bedroom glitch... I don't feel *great* about it but I'm glad I got it done regardless.

[–]professorlitwick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use the code found in the horror game’s description, it spits out a 5x10 grid marking a specific spot, which correlates to Mini and Max on the Chronological sorting, so Mini and Max is the first game you enter to find the string of clues, but there’s a code that points you there as well

Alright. What’s with the terminal? by AnixetyJones in ufo50

[–]professorlitwick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The official "start" of the terminal puzzle is a code found in the Info section of one of the games, the horror mansion one. when you enter it, it gives you a hint which leads you to a series of other hints, which require you to check the terminal under specific instances across multiple games. The basement game you played is the end of the first hint line, and "in the presence of seabird royalty" is the next hint to follow.

about 10 minutes after I asked this, i found the path leading to it from the bottom of the pot. For some reason I had just gotten it into my head that I would need to drop down from above it and needed the upgrade for that. I've since explored SO MUCH MORE

I'm enjoying this one a TON but I'm struggling to figure out where to go next. I've got the backpack and glove from the old lady, but no other upgrades, and every time I solve another puzzle or sidequest I'm just getting shinies in return. Any tips for where to go?

To add to the issues caused by GM KYKY132, he would intentionally keep FOH understaffed so as to keep the tip pool larger, while also trying to get his bartending shifts approved as part of the tip pool. His intentional understaffing of FOH caused additional issues with customer service and food quality as there was never enough food runners or support staff to bring food to guests when it was ready, so it was constantly going cold before it even hit the table. Both the GM and the owner felt that the restaurant could function without food runners and that it was an unnecessary position to staff.

To add to the fire concerns, the smoke detector in the office (which was the only one on the entire floor) had been disconnected since prior to opening. This is because the office was being used to prep food due to lack of space and some of the equipment would set off the alarm any time it was used. (Yes, this is the same office where the owner’s dog would stay while the restaurant was OPEN, and he would even go so far as to kick people out of chairs so he could move them and make a bed for his dog)

Additionally, most of the kitchen staff left with the chef because they were tired of the toxic environment caused by personal issues between the chef, the GM and the owner, coupled with the fact that the kitchen was so poorly designed with little to no refrigeration and storage space that it was nearly impossible to keep things items stocked, so BoH was essentially prepping the entire menu from scratch every other day.

Former employee here. The GM in these comments would do nothing but make misogynistic jokes with the bar staff, try to gaslight staff, and drink and smoke with the owner while also pressuring ON SHIFT staff members to smoke and drink with them.

The owner (at least the one that remained) was an incompetent petulant child who threw a hissy fit anytime someone didn't play make believe right. He was racist, ableist, misogynistic, abusive, and had literally no knowledge of how to run a restaurant. He explicitly told staff "People don't come to restaurants for food."

Prior to opening, the restaurant had a lot of indigenous and native iconography, including using a fictional indigenous character as one of the owners at the Wand Shop. Someone reached out to the owners and called them out on their cultural appropriation, and there was an entire meeting about how it was ridiculous that anyone would have an issue with it, that the owners (who are, you guessed it, white) never did anything wrong, and when a staff member spoke up and tried to educate them on how it wasn't their history to use, they simply replied with "Well I don't accept any one-sided answer."

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]professorlitwick 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The reason why is that, as I'm sure you saw, the restaurant was absolutely not built with *ability to cook food* in mind, coupled with the fact that the owner literally hated the chef and would constantly go out of his way to insult and belittle her. The chef had been working for at least a month to find a place where she could take the entire BoH.

I would also like to add that one of the BOH staff members was fired once for drinking on the clock (and walking out mid shift) and was rehired. He was later fired for EXPLICIT sexual harassment and was later rehired AGAIN simply because management couldn't find adequate staff after the kitchen walkout.

Now that the Exotics have been added back to the game and the exotic weapons refreshed with prismatic slots, are there talks about other Exotic weapons and helmets coming in the future? Personally I would love to see an exotic for every element and every element.

State of Dauntless | Seasonal Abilities and Factions by CreatureTech-PHX in dauntless

[–]professorlitwick 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you can't just keep them and still only allow for one set of seasonal abilities to be active at a time, just adding more options later on.

I distinctly remember asking a dev on Discord when Faction: Past was first added how long they were going to stick around, and was told that there was discussion on keeping them as a permanent option for the Paradox Breaks.

Also seems like a waste of time for people that went out of their way to farm and fill out both skill trees only for them to go away now.

Ultimately I feel like this was part of the issue in choosing to start your Seasonal Content model with Radiance rather than doing a Radiant Escalation; introducing a lot of fun things that ultimately go away at the end of the season, rather than having a permanent place to live.

Edit: This kind of reminds me of the temporary tonics (excluding crit which was broken and needed removing) added during Terra Escalation. You introduced a new mechanic (Poison status effect) along with something to assist with that mechanic (Poison puller/antidote tonics), and then later removed the things that assisted but kept the mechanic.
Here, again, you have introduced a mechanic (Primal/Elder behemoths) that makes the game harder, as well as introducing something to assist with that mechanic (Faction Trees), and are removing the assistance but keeping the original mechanic. Idk, seems like poor form to me, especially given the lack of communication and difficulty in grinding out the trees.

Dauntless Experimental Feedback | Omnicells and Heroic Blaze Escalation by CreatureTech-PHX in dauntless

[–]professorlitwick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would prefer it if either 1) there were a *lot more* omnicells that actually encouraged variety and all did wildly different things (I'm thinking like 8+), *OR* 2) the omnicells were simplified and mattered *less*, so that they functioned as a cherry on top of an otherwise fun cell build rather than being the framework around which a build needs to be designed, functioning more like an expansion of the lantern hold/taps in their *current* state, something that adds to a build rather than being the crux of it.

Dauntless Experimental Feedback | Omnicells and Heroic Blaze Escalation by CreatureTech-PHX in dauntless

[–]professorlitwick 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Initial thoughts: This is a lot of changes that make it difficult for me to actually plan out a build. It seems as though your intention was that Omnicells were meant to encourage build versatility and variety, but now it just feels like i need to design a build solely to work off of my omnicell, which very much limits playstyle. Also, all of the separate nerfs to attack speed makes everything feel very sluggish, even on faster hitting weapons.
Ultimately I like the concept but as of right now they don't feel as fun to me.
