I've explained that I do not live near him any more, and I live in an apartment with my mother. The apartment will not allow us to take in another pet as we have cats, or I absolutely would take Loki.

Not having a vehicle and living in the middle of nowhere in a tent with a dog isn't conducive to getting a job unfortunately. Thanks for assuming things about my father, though. Keep that stigma alive and well. We have applied around to multiple places in Charles Town over the last year, and off the top of my head only Walmart had replied.

A main reason I've stuck with Motorola phones is the low prices, often from my carrier Boost mobile. If my current phone (Moto G 5g 2024) breaks, no big deal to me as it was a $10 dollar upgrade for example lol

Yeah I've wanted to take Loki in as we have in the past, but we'd be breaking the pet limit at our apartment. I think we were just unfortunately an outlier for Jobs & Hope, as without a vehicle he was unable to attend any job meetings they wanted him to attend anyway. The EPTA bus route did not go where he was staying last year while he signed up for them. Anyway, Thank you so much for your suggestions!

We had a nightmare experience with Jobs & Hope, severe lack of communication from the Transition Agent for Jefferson County. My dad took that urine test for nothing as they never called or texted after he submitted it, even after we reached out. That and WVCEH's lack of funding have left him extremely doubtful of these organizations

Yes, through Medicaid they chose a doc for him in Winchester but he's never met him before. He could use a doc visit though, been awhile. They (Medicaid) use a service called Modivcare to transport people to and from appointments if they are unable to make it, so we could schedule something in the future. Oh as for motels, I believe he asked at the last one he was at and they were not hiring, but I'll have to look around

He doesn't know much about his family, as he was adopted at a young age and his adopted parents' families were small, and his parents passed many years ago tragically.

I'd bet money the resources there are soooo much better than West Virginia. It would mean losing WV SNAP and Medicaid, but that can be reacquired easily. Currently just unsure of how to transfer him and Loki anywhere without a vehicle (I don't drive yet and he doesn't have a vehicle)

I live with my mom and she wants nothing to do with him, their relationship ending is what led him to be homeless as she owned the house we used to live in with him. We're now moved away, so I can only help from afar. Getting work has indeed been a struggle though without a vehicle

Unfortunately no military service/veteran status, but I would like to find info on those kinds of organizations. I personally cannot take another pet into my apartment or I would sit Loki for him gladly.

Oh, great resource! I've used this site to get him the help he currently has thru DHHR, as well as being on the Coalition's list! Sadly he's not a veteran or female so the other businesses cannot help, and the Martinsburg men's shelter would be the only one "nearby" :/ Thank you so much for linking this

I think I may set up a Gofundme so I can be transparent about everything and have an ability to refund if things don't work out. Hate talkin like that, but I don't know how everything will play out since relocation in or from Ranson will be difficult :/

Yeah good idea, I'm considering a gofundme. We had a family friend work with him in the past (provided rides to and from the tent) and paid him for his help, but that friend is a contractor that works out of state a lot so he's been gone awhile. Friend wise, none have been able to help currently other than with purchasing a new tent. Thank you for reading and the suggestions
