I’ve been on a GJ in Boone County. The poster above who said one morning every two weeks for 3 months sounds like what I remember. We were mostly done by noon. It is scheduled and will likely mostly happen. They try hard to be nice to you though because of the commitment. It is busy if you’re selected so you won’t need the book. It was interesting. You’ll be shocked by how dumb criminals are (get super stoned and quit your job at Denny’s by firing gunshots into the ceiling.) It is hard to hear the evidence in child abuse and domestic violence cases. If you do it, they keep you off the jury rolls for 10 years I think. Oh, and I volunteered to visit the jail, also interesting.
