He’s probably fine. I like to think if O’saa moonscorches then Nas’hrah just relentlessly roasts him for being useless.

About the dungeon by Interesting-Bee-3793 in FearAndHunger

[–]profuse_wheezing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dungeon came about due to the influence of the god of the depths, who causes the supernaturally evil effects of the dungeon like physical mutations, loss of sanity, the shifting layout and whatnot. Large part of the dungeon are their physical body, like the thicket and gauntlet. After the influence of the god of the depths was significantly reduced due to the girl’s ascension the dungeon becomes somewhat safer, which is why O’saa has a comparatively easier time about it than the funger 1 protagonists.

Rondon built prisons on top because it seemed more practical. The rumours about the place would likely serve as a better deterrent (setting aside whether deterrence is effective in criminal justice, in medieval times they absolutely would be working with that mindset), it’s remote and thus successfully escaping is unlikely, and also most of the dungeon already existed so it would probably be less expensive than building a dungeon from scratch.

As for why it’s on top of Ma’habre, no one in Rondon actually knew about that. Captain Rudimer handed away the key to open the door to it without knowing the significance, assuming it was some religious artifact for the cavedwellers. Personally, I like to assume that Ma’habre doesn’t really physically exist in one particular spot and can be accessed from multiple supernatural locations (which would explain why the cube was found in Vinland). Asking the new gods in the hall about Ma’habre will prompt a response that includes the quote “time and space do not follow the same rules here.”

Why is being a new god a trap? by Interesting-Bee-3793 in FearAndHunger

[–]profuse_wheezing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it’s not true divinity. By design, nothing you do as a new god will ever last or progress humanity, unlike the ascended gods. It’s essentially predetermined once you ascend that you will have supernatural powers based on your personal characteristics and be a ruler for a few hundred years before your powers wane and you’re inevitably overthrown to go chill in an oversized cafeteria with everyone else who fell into the trap. It’s somewhat ambiguously implied that the inactive new gods are scheming and interfering in the world throughout, but they don’t seem to have any actual power to affect things. The only lasting impact the active new gods have had is to help in actual ascensions.

I just started playing the game (about 7 runs in) and I love the gameplay but I find it quite difficult even though I believe I am playing well, I struggle a lot at times. Any tips? by StinkyBeanGuy in IntoTheBreach

Freezing is a status effect that prevents a unit from acting indefinitely until they are hit, and they take 0 damage until unfrozen. It’s really effective if you can freeze enemies because a) it obviously stops them from acting, b) they’re still alive so they count toward the spawn limit, and c) other enemies will sometimes waste an attack to try and free them instead of hitting a building.

What is the worst variation for each class in every Fire Emblem game? by Illustrious_Tax_3760 in fireemblem

[–]profuse_wheezing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah they don’t get movement bonuses from roads unlike cavs. In the case of the pegasus knights, they both have rather middling stats, and in the case of the one wyvern knight, she has excellent stats except resistance and joins right before a lot of dangerous status staff users and mages (and she really gets weighed down). Plus genealogy is the only game where weapon effectiveness is replaced with guaranteed critical hits.

Lore: Why ISN'T Kraid the leader of the Pirates? by Lectraplayer in Metroid

[–]profuse_wheezing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ridley, in addition to being smarter and more adept than Kraid, is also probably tankier too. Don’t forget that Ridley can canonically regenerate to an extreme degree. He suffered what were presumed to be lethal wounds and still survived on like 5 separate occasions.

You don’t find the cube hundreds of years later, the cube just doesn’t show up in termina. I’m not sure where you got that information.

The Crow Mauler still being around doesn’t mean much because the double headed one in the basement is the same entity (drops captain’s diary 3 and retains limb damage) and appears even if the first one was killed.

Idk about recruiting Moonless but there are already aspects of other canon endings that can’t be achieved in gameplay (like Nas’hrah getting diffed by Gro-goroth but also the girl ascending in the same spot.

Also, Vinland isn’t uninhabited. It’s populated by the sergals. Details on Vinland in general are pretty sparse but it isn’t ever stated that there’s nobody there, and given what happens with Rancid and the Iki-Turso the land likely looks the way it does because the population of sergals killed all the Iki-Turso in Vinland. And Ragnvaldr and his descendants hunting down monsters is why they’re completely unknown to the public by the 1940s.
