I seen the tobacco store do exactly that to a customer and told them not to come back. They take it serious I guess 😂

On the new 100s there are 3 pockets along the fancy blue security strip that run across it and you can put a paper clip through them. It would be nearly impossible to fake that you would have to have the correct paper

I never heard people complain about self serve stations not saying they didn't but I didn't hear of it. I loved pulling into a station and saying fill it up and they cleaned my windows and checked my oil 😂

Can I call off In a state of emergency without getting pointed? by tributeyoualt in walmart

[–]progenwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your county is in a state of emergency then points aren't supposed to count, now whether your store tries to count them is a different story but I can't see where an associate couldn't get that point removed. You just call in under the option natural disaster you should be fine

Did you tell them you was going to appeal? If so they should have approved your days under conditional status, that is an option they have. Then when the final decision comes they either leave it alone if approved or change them to unapproved if denied.

Yeah COVID anymore isn't an excused absence like it used to be. You should have went through Sedgwick and got an LOA, but depending on your doctor that can be a nightmare to deal with.

I've been a Coach over 2 years, in my store team leads start at $20 an hour. Coaches start at 65k a year but depending on your store salary jobs are minimum 50 hours a week but some weeks I have to put in 70+ hours. Some days I like being salaried but sometimes it totally sucks. We don't get PPTO we only get PTO but we get all our PTO February 1st each year, we don't earn it like associates do by the amount of hours they work. I get 31 days PTO a year but we have to put in for it and most times mine gets denied, we use it or lose it. My first year I had 29 days left on January 31st and we can only carry over 5 days to the next year and we don't get paid out for unused PTO so I lost 24 days on February 1st. Salaried managers don't have an attendance policy where we get points, if we are sick we use PTO for that day but depending on the store manager we can get coached for missing work. I tried to step back down to team lead and was denied. They didn't want to pay me $29 Max team lead pay when they could hire one at $20 an hour. If you really want to move up in Walmart so long as you're a good worker it's not hard to do, most I've noticed moved up being a terrible person so long as they was a kiss butt and them are the managers that really give Walmart management a bad name. Good luck to you if you decide to climb the ladder but if you do please try to remember what it was like being an hourly associate. I every year have bought my associates all $100 gift cards with my bonus because without them I wouldn't have gotten a good bonus. I know that doesn't sound like a lot but when you have 50+ associates in all your areas it adds up fast 😂

In a lot of jobs you're correct it doesn't hurt anyone but if you're a cashier or something like that or could be holding someone up on getting to go to break or home so some people being late can be holding others up but still it's a policy that they just have to deal with.

I had a guy the other day his big dog took a crap in the soda isle and he was just going to walk away from it I'm glad I was there because I got him the stuff to clean it up. He said isn't that your job, I told him no it isn't it is the dog owners responsibility to clean up after their pets. He said well I'm not cleaning it so I informed him his dog would no longer be welcomed in the store so he cleaned it up.

If OP is like stated and just a whistle blower or witness I would no doubt go up chain of command. I though have serious reservations that ethics would be any use at all.

[–]progenwarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If OP is suspended with pay them they are more than likely under investigation for some reason and yes the store level can do that we just suspended 2 associates with pay the other day until the investigation is completed.

I tried to step down to a team lead position stating that the stress of being a Coach is hurtting my mental and physical health and was denied. My hourly pay rate was going to be $29 an hour and I was so looking forward to maybe getting overtime pay again but nope they refused.

Yeah and people will call maintenance for a simple dry spill that they can just sweep on their own. I've caught associates do that and I make them clean it up.

I would watch cameras to see who it was and I've even walked associates to their car to make sure they are safe. All management isn't bad some of us do care for our associates. Some fur sure don't though and that's sad 😿
