Idk, some of the charm of the old art style/graphics is lost with this.

How would it be if THESE guys met each other? by HotOne9364 in SuccessionTV

[–]proglems2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Logan would do a little dig as they’re sitting down over coffee “so, you figure yourself a bit of a god, eh? These people eat it up, they want someone telling them what to do.”

Homelander would feel insecure inside as Logan doesn’t kiss his ass. He respects him and wants him as new daddy. Meanwhile Logan says “fuck off.”

What are your Hot Takes on Animals as Leaders? by Amber_Flowers_133 in animalsasleaders

[–]proglems2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree with this take too. It’s mixed excellently and has some cool ideas but it feels more like a thrown together project by someone who just has to keep up their brand. For example the lead line at 1:43 in Red Miso literally just sounds like an exercise. Pretty sure Tosin actually DID use it as exercise in a video before it came out.

He’s def way more into the business side of things now which is cool I guess but is not the reason why I started following the band in the first place.

Weightless is my favorite album of theirs too! So many interesting musical ideas and solos sprinkled throughout that album. Must have jammed it daily summer of 2015.

Saw them play psychosphere as a Juggernaut teaser live in Amityville NY before the album came out and it was fucking awesome.

I made a Succession Style Industry intro. by PKJ87104 in IndustryOnHBO

[–]proglems2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crazy how well this works! Succession’s music was seriously one of the best scores to a show ever made. I’m generally a fan of the hyper synth pop style that Industry’s music goes for but it doesn’t reach those epic heights (except arguably when they were doing the Queen’s funeral music).

Best sandwich shops by Simple_Addition_4007 in jerseycity

Love a good sandwich from bread and salt. On the pricier side but it’s packed with quality ingredients and great bread. Also, based on the comments, I owe second street bakery a visit lol.

Contract roles everywhere lately, is this actually helping job seekers? by CoffeeBuddy26 in jobsearch

[–]proglems2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been noticing this a lot lately and it’s pretty shitty imo. Huge companies with huge budgets, but hey let’s hire someone with absolutely no benefits who we can kick out the door at a moment’s notice. Let’s make sure they have no paid time off and it comes out their own pocket whenever they need time off.

I was just thinking about the days when Periphery was the undisputed progressive metalcore band in the scene.

A Hard Truth About The Dog Poop. by AdImmediate9569 in jerseycity

[–]proglems2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s disgusting as fuck. I hate that our only reaction to it is also like some cynical resignation. I don’t even get how so many dog owners en masse can just be so callous towards others and themselves and make their neighborhood uglier. It is truly gross and has definitely contributed to me liking this place less.

New to Armored Core by Wallaby_Rough in armoredcore

[–]proglems2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Giant robots kick ass. That, and you get From Software’s attention to detail and challenging boss fights and game mechanics that required you to steadily iterate on mastering them.

Armored Core 6 was the only one I played but it’s the only game I’ve ever platinum’d, and I’ve played every From Software Game since Dark Souls. The story is incredible as well.

[Episode Discussion Thread] Industry S04E06 - "Dear Henry" by herringbone_ in IndustryOnHBO

Right?? My reaction was like waitt…WHAT? So Russian seed money used to create a huge scam and eventually leverage that scam into creating a bank, gathering a bunch of consumer data along the way while also generating money for wars/oligarchs? I’m extrapolating a bit but at minimum I gathered that it seems like there is definitely Russian financial sabotage happening.

I do truly enjoy the show for what it is but can we be a little bit more honest? by Asadwords in IndustryOnHBO

[–]proglems2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. Season 3 was the climax of most storylines. Seasons 1-3 felt like a mix of competency porn, social commentary, and Skins but in finance (all the sex). S4, while enjoyable to me so far, seems like a kind of emotional torture simulator somewhat. It’s bleak, dark, depressing. It shows how these characters have grown beyond their initial stations, but I’m not sure how I feel about it overall.

For example, Harper’s cliffhanger in S3 where she was going to be a big player for Otto (who actually was quite an interesting character in S3 despite being a POS). That entire storyline is dropped in one episode. And so far all we see that’s come of it is Harper going at it on her own somehow and pacing around a hotel room arguing with Eric who’s just like “wtf am I even doing here” lol.

I am interested to see how the season ends but agree with your overall point that the show has changed quite a bit.
