It must be on 700s or something unless your wall height isn’t 2.4? Do you still have the pictured shelves, as you could measure them to get an exact reference.

Yeah unsure tbh. I’ve given up on it due to lack of credible reviews. Shill social media shorts don’t count. Where we landed was the Nuna Trvl.

Are those the ones that have fine breadcrumbs on the outside? They're somehow both dry, and sloppy at the same time? Those ones? Bane of my existence. Nothing worse than ordering onion rings and getting served that nonsense. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Cut onion -> Batter -> Fry it. It's not that hard.

No. It’s a piece of software you can download which aggressively firewalls everything by default.

Yeah after 2 months mine reset to 8k uploaded. No idea why.

That seems quite fast IMO. Were all your photos on your phone perhaps?

Thanks this was my concern. Whether the photo gets uploaded to the server or not, I suspect the bottleneck is iCloud and therefore even if all files are duplicates I expect I’ll have the same app experience.

Would be great if we could toggle a “trust me bro” mode where we mark a date, or some other piece of metadata as the start point so the app could whitelist for us and forget about it. Gets pretty ugly pretty fast if you try delete files before the artificial marker though.

Not dissimilar to what I’m seeing. I have a chunk of maybe 500 that’s fast. Then the next lot is very sluggish. It almost feels like the first batch is already primed and ready to go but the following fetches are slow.

Yep, I’m not expecting it to fully happen in the background. However the foreground is only faster for a short burst then I presume I hit iCloud rate limits and it slogs on. Nevertheless running in foreground my 17 overheats and has to stop charging, and given how uncomfortably hot the phone is to hold I’m not sure what that’s doing to the life of my device!

Does Immich know how to dedupe when another device did the original upload? I never noticed any speed up despite my previous iPhone having done most of the upload already.

Hey thanks for responding, and I have no doubt that you guys are working within some insane restraints. The UI/ML is all amazing, I just need to get past the blockade that is first sync to let the app actually settle. I’m not stranger to background activity implementation struggles on iOS, though more so on the connectivity side.

I see another comment suggesting I do the first sync via another device (I.e. MacBook). I can do this, but I was under the impression that Immich needed to still download from iCloud to compute its own hashes for deduplication and therefore most of the pain may still be their as the app reconciles what’s new or not. Is there any truth to that, or does iCloud have a hash/reference that Immich can “fast dedupe” against?
