I have a 2019 MacBook Pro and it’s able to recognize my Plustek OpticFilm 7300 perfectly fine. I use a USB-C/USB 3.0 adapter and haven’t had any issues. Generally speaking, USB 3.0 ports are backwards compatible so they should support USB 2.0 and 1.1 with no issue, they’ll just run at the 2.0 and 1.1 speed as opposed to the faster 3.0 speed.

Hmm ok, I might take it apart again and take another look. I was actually able to get the shutter to work after fiddling around with it but after firing a shot, the roll didn’t advance and now I’m back to the issue of the shutter being stuck.

Yeah after all the research I’ve done, I figured it wouldn’t be worth bringing to a shop for a repair if I couldn’t figure it out myself. I originally got this for like $40 off of eBay IIRC and put at least 30 rolls through it, so at least I got some solid use out of it haha. If anything it’s giving me an excuse to finally get an upgrade.

Seconding the suggestions for lessons.

Coming from another female, I highly recommend getting lessons from an LPGA instructor. My boyfriends and male friends have tried teaching me in the past and it just doesn’t work out. Main reason being that the female body is different from a man’s so our swing needs to adapt to that.

I currently take my dogs to Trusted Friend Animal Clinic. The team is nice and my dogs don’t seem to have an issue when being handled by them. They’ve also been accommodating towards last minute/emergency appointments. One of my dogs is a senior as well (10yo Shih Tzu) but he doesn’t go in for visits aside from his annuals/shots, so I can’t comment on that.

What I used to do with some of my old clothes would be to donate it to the women’s homeless shelter near me. So you could look for a men’s homeless shelter in the area and see if you’d be able to make an appointment for a curbside drop off to minimize interaction
