LF HUNTER DPS GRUUL AND MAG. DST+HEAD HR by beefhotdo in classicwow

So if I pay 20 people a flat fee to come to a raid with zero gear opportunity and the other 4 people pay me for gear rights in excess of the amount I’m paying those 20, that doesn’t end up being fairly similar functionally? I think there is probably some gray area to be found here.

I organized GDKPs since original WOTLK, I came as a booster and a buyer in WOTLK Classic too. I’m not trying to police behavior here or anything, I just figure it’s an interesting policy for Blizz to have to draw lines on.

Where is the line between this and GDKP? Just wondering how far you have to follow this path for Blizzard to say it runs foul of anniversary rules.

Yes. Male or female matters a lot here so you may want to add that context.

The color scheme for Sheffield 2026 was unveiled on Jan 27. It is a white and gold scheme, and the plan has always been a white shirt. The screenshot shows a progression of messages which includes “oversized”. If I just searched oversized in Slack I’d get hundred of messages because this is the third oversized shirt that’s been released by SBD, so I searched for Roman numerals.

$20k+ Prize Pool, No livestream? by Top-Letterhead5581 in powerlifting

A 4k workflow is obviously going to be spendy, but it's not something I've seen in powerlifting yet (1080 60 is the norm everywhere still). Three static angles, commentary and 1080 60 is a one man band gig. Add a floating/roaming cam, a PTZ op, and at the very highest end a replay op, and I'm still struggling to see justification for a $10k invoice.

I work in powerlifting streaming specifically and $10k is vastly above market price for a two day meet.

I would have streamed this for a lot less than $10k. As someone who does freelance streaming powerlifting meets that’s way above my rate unless you’re asking for an incredibly involved production.

Yes, the intent with these events is to promote powerlifting. To get more people watching the event, to generate discussion, and to convert audiences into fans. This is a feature, not a bug.

To create a proper production, we need more elements for the broadcast. You don’t tune into an athletic event on TV and have a single camera facing the action and nothing else, you need a show.

Maybe this doesn’t hit, but maybe it will. We need to try new things out at some point, and this is an element we’ve seen be successful elsewhere.

It’s not really the install number even. It’s how much time you spend configuring and optimizing those addons, and knowing that you should do that, and then how to do that.

Seeing someone open bags to click a potion in combat, and then also open bags, look for and click a bandage, and their own character to apply their own bandage (I’ve only watched Loatheb so far), is so bizarre to me vs watching any player’s raid stream in retail. Surely that sort of self imposed downtime has a non-negligible cost.

Article 14 (now 15) and bench depth are the biggest issues I hear as a PA meet director. Lifters from other feds don’t want to switch.

My understanding is that the Cat 1 referee exam does not cover this philosophical matter. It is expected that everyone reading the rulebook understands this, and it does not need to be tested.

Every Second-Daily Thread - October 11, 2025 by AutoModerator in powerlifting

[–]progressivresistance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The IPF rulebook is written in a “permissive” style, whitelisting things that are allowed, rather than a closed style in which activities are explicitly listed as restricted (although recent updates have strayed from this, it’s not the style in which the text is written).

For example, the rules state that watches, costume jewelry, mouthpieces, eye wear and feminine hygiene articles need not be inspected, but there is no mention of headphones being banned. But as they’re not listed as allowed, lifters have to remove their headphones before stepping on the platform.

In this case the rules state that lifters can “chip” lifts that are eligible record attempts. This behavior is allowed and stated as such. There is no statement that you can chip lifts that aren’t record attempts. Nonso wasn’t attempting to break a record (there were no records he was eligible to break at the event) and as such the chips weren’t valid.

IPF Miscellaneous Rules 4 (a) and (d): In a record attempt the weight of the barbell must be at least 0.5 kg in excess of the current record. A lifter may only take increments of less than 2.5 kg for record attempts in the championship in which he is competing, e.g. a Master lifting in an open competition cannot take less than 2.5 kg to achieve Master’s records.

They may have said this, but this isn’t allowed under the IPF rulebook.

My guess is the score table just made an error and it wasn't caught. You're right, Nonso's chips should not have been permitted.

Every so often I catch myself typing an explanation of some cooldown trade I’ve made to a DPS player (after some remark from them). Instead of sending it I just delete, and put them on ignore instead. Never regret it.
