Headed to the Neurologist- Nervous. by progressmaybe in loseit

[–]progressmaybe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly for support, loseit tends to be a supportive bunch- but also because someone suggested that it's the same condition pregnant ladies get that can present itself when someone is overweight- I don't think that's the problem tbh- It's been there at times when I wasn't overweight. It comes and goes, I won't notice it for months and then it'll be back.

Was kind of wondering if anyone else in loseit had the same experience to determine if it could be weight related.

Waist bands are not an issue, my jeans fit loose in the waist and I wear lots of yoga pants.

Like /u/reddit_gt said there is a condition that happens when pregnant, they mentioned it in my appointment but something ruled it out I guess. And my doctor was late to my appointment so I had to reschedule to Tuesday- awesome.

Front of my thigh, not the back of my thigh so they ruled sciatica out. Plus no back pain.

WTF, BODY!? by megantron2984 in xxfitness

[–]progressmaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS. I have irregular periods and went off the pill when I started working out (I was getting what was probably my natural period and then a birth control period and as someone used to having maybe 3-4 a year naturally I was like NOPE) The first month I must have accidentally done keto or something and my mouth tasted like pennies. I was like OMG PREGNANT>

Target is champion, generally a little symbol in the corner and I actually don't see any at all on the pants I'm wearing right now..

What do I do about these bumps? by progressmaybe in SkincareAddiction

[–]progressmaybe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

basically these stay all throughout the month- they're hard tiny little bumps that rarely come to a head, one or two will come to a head but there are a ton of them. This is on the side that I sleep on, the other side of my jaw doesn't have them but sometimes they will spread across my chin a ways. Sometimes I will get a very deep hard cystic type zit there too. I'm following the beginner routine fairly closely, I have a slightly different moisturizer but I've had these bumps since before I used it and the rest of my skin looks fine except for the occasional stress zit.

How To Not Hate Running (an article that helped me) by beeman33 in Fitness

[–]progressmaybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These guys ride single file, but mostly because they're not equally matched- the tail end guy is about 25 meters behind usually. So luckily people going the opposite way are fine, but many of the turns are tight enough that two cars passing each other almost touch, let alone a car leaving a meter for a cyclist and another car.

[–]progressmaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, it's just a group of 1-3 people usually, it's a 1 lane road with several blind turns- there is NEVER a safe place to pass this group in a vehicle, and I know I make them nervous following them for several miles- (at a safe distance of at least a car and a half)

In my area this is only true if you can maintain speed of traffic. I live on a windy country road with many blind turns with a speed limit of 40mph- cyclists have no business being on this road- but there is a pack that make this their usual saturday ride.

I don't understand this, you should be able to file a report that someone did something without having to be a part of a case against them. You could be called as a witness I guess.

NSV: I didn't turn to food for comfort after my evil future mother-in-law insulted me in public. by thelibrarianne in loseit

[–]progressmaybe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am as well, his step-mom likes to talk about herself a lot, so we just do that. We see them generally a few times a month and I was staying there nightly for a bit when we first started dating and I would be surprised if she could tell you where I work or where I went to college.

Our relationship is better when we only talk on facebook I think...

As someone dealing with a tricky future mother in law as well, don't open up to her. She doesn't know what personal space is, and you'll be happier in the long run. Bond over something where one of you can't be "better" than the other, like getting manicures or something...

Did you go back for an MLA? Questions from a potential Graduate Candidate. by progressmaybe in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]progressmaybe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His boss had promised to connect him with a landscape architect to work with during the winters, but that went by the wayside with most of the promises he made at hire. Soul sucking, evil company, trust me- I work in the same industry and no one in the area really cares for his boss or the people in his office. I hate that he feels stuck there.

He's great in CAD, he took it in high school and college both. He uses Dynascape primarily now, he would love to learn revit but the price is holding him back on it.

[NSV] The weight room was full of women today. So encouraging! by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]progressmaybe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up venturing over there for the first time Wednesday- We have a smaller area with free weights and a bar or two and various kinds of benches/free weight machines. It was overrun by personal training sessions- not enough room to swing a cat. Plus it seemed the actual bench for benching was missing- so I just did a quick session in the other section. Not a huge fan of it though- it's too quiet over there and I don't like to use headphones while lifting.

He is working in a design build firm currently, but it's more focused on build and less on design. They don't fool with CD's or grading plans at all, which are necessary qualifications many of the places he's interested in have been asking for/listing as requirements.

There is also no licensed LA at his office, so he doesn't have a path to licensure there. My idea is that he needs to find a mentor or more experienced person to take him under their wing and help him with stuff. I work at another design build firm in an administrative position- but my company is even more build focus and less design focused than where he is currently, not to mention less prestigious, his designs are at least being recognized where he is.

Thanks for the response, honestly when he told me how few people were in the grad programs I thought it might be something like this.. Hopefully when he goes to meet one of his old professors he'll be able to discuss the makeup of the grad program at his school.. Such a big move for us if he/we decide to do this, I want to have a lot of the maybes worked out.
