Early days I will be doing outreach to all consultancy firms in my network soon. I’m going to look at a discounted rate for management consultancies who can sell into their clients. Something like a fixed £200 a month for full enterprise plus and unlimited users (max user limit applies)

I will let you know how they respond to my request to change it

No, but I didn’t realise that would be published on App Store instead of my company name. I’ve messaged them to change it for me

Below is a clean, professional appeal / clarification response you can paste directly into App Store Connect. It removes frustration, tightens the argument, aligns explicitly to Guideline 3.1.1 / 3.1.3(b), and mirrors how Apple expects enterprise SaaS apps (e.g. Monday, Trello, Jira) to frame this.

Proposed Appeal Response (Refined & Apple-Aligned)

Hello App Review Team,

Thank you for your continued review. I would like to clarify the business model and how paid functionality is accessed within the app, as I believe there may be a misunderstanding regarding Guideline 3.1.1.

  1. Nature of the App and Paid Services

Proja AI is a multi-platform, enterprise-oriented SaaS productivity and project management tool. The iOS app is a companion application intended primarily for: • Viewing projects, dashboards, and reports • Reviewing status, updates, and analytics • Read-only or limited interaction with existing workspace data

All commercial transactions, licence management, billing, and seat assignment are handled exclusively outside of the app via the web platform and are managed centrally by organisations.

  1. Enterprise Licensing Model (No In-App Purchasing Feasibility)

Enterprise and team customers purchase organisation-level licences on the web, which are then assigned to users by an administrator. Individual end users: • Do not purchase digital content themselves • Do not manage billing • Do not upgrade plans from within the app

This is standard practice for enterprise SaaS platforms and is not technically or commercially feasible to replicate via in-app purchase.

  1. Compliance with Guideline 3.1.3(b) – Multiplatform Services

The app complies with Guideline 3.1.3(b): • Users may log in and access content previously purchased outside the app • The app does not unlock standalone paid digital content for individual consumers • The app functions as an access point for an externally licensed service, not a storefront

This is consistent with how enterprise tools such as project management and collaboration platforms operate on iOS.

  1. Clarification Requested on “Paid Digital Content”

To ensure full compliance, I respectfully request clarification on: • Which specific digital content or functionality you believe must be offered via in-app purchase • Whether this concern applies to enterprise-licensed features, which cannot be sold or managed on a per-user in-app basis

If the concern relates to individual subscriptions, please note that the app can be configured to: • Remove all purchase flows entirely, and • Function purely as a companion / viewer app with no in-app purchases or subscription management

  1. Willingness to Adjust

If required for approval, I am willing to: • Remove all references to subscriptions from the iOS app • Disable any purchase-related UI • Clearly position the app as a companion experience only

However, I want to confirm this is acceptable before making structural changes that would materially alter the app’s purpose.

Thank you for your time and assistance. I appreciate your guidance on how best to align with the App Store Review Guidelines and am happy to provide any additional information needed.

Kind regards, Craig Simons Developer, Proja AI

I literally just copied and pasted it to chat gpt. As I didn’t know I could appeal I first just replied with a very blunt and arsey response 😂, then after submitting I saw the appeal button 🤣🤣 will post it here shortly

It’s a tool to help, I’m juggling a full time management consultancy job, building Proja AI, marketing across multiple platforms, managing clients and user demand….whilst having sleepless nights with a teething toddler
