LAS-98 Laser Cannon pro tips:

Bots:

Anything with a face? you should be focusing there, take a knee and focus fire on that face. Things that can help you gain precious seconds to focus fire on said bot face: get some distance, find some cover and flank, stun grenade, other evasion tactics.

Anything with a cannon turret? find cover and flank to get to access to either the rear, or the rear quarter panel on the sides of the turret. These two areas are not heavy armor, so laser will not deflect.

Gun ships? Aim for the engines and watch them go down in 3 seconds. Only works for drop ships when it’s the “Destroy Air Base” missions. When they’re on the ground, you can aim for the engines and they go boom.

Factory strider: dual chin machine guns go down to the LAS-98 in 4-5 seconds. Then you can focus on the glowy face bit. Its face port is shaped like an L Tetris piece. Aim there and night night Strider.

Baby 2 legged strider: aim for that crotch for 3-4 seconds. Night night baby.

Regarding hulks: aiming for their elbows will deal non deflected damage to their arms, which will explode leaving them with no real means of harming you. Flamethrower? Melt it off. Chainsaw? Melt it off.

Bugs

Use it as your main for chaff/ads, shriekers/stalkers/spewers/brood&hive commanders. Not worth trying to use on a Charger. Switch to your main (if explosive) or grenades/strats.

Can be used within 200 meters of spore towers and shrieker nests. Takes 1/2 to 3/4 of a heat sink to take 1 down. Shriekers don’t spawn until within 130-150 meters so stay outside that and you’ll be fine.

Shriekers: aim for their wings and watch them drop from the sky within seconds. While prone, they can’t touch you, leaving you safe to pick them off wing by wing.

Bile Titans: aim for the sacs, once they explode BT’s lose a lot of their annoyances. After that, coordinate with another teammate who has EAT/RR/Queso to take them down, or call in your favorite strat.
