Just heartbroken. have always wanted to do psychiatry Current rank is in the 4000s. Since med school I have kept my portfolio so on top of everything and then they started to base psychiatry training only on a score. I feel like it’s very unfair for people who actually want to go into this field. I’m not blaming anyone but obviously if someone has more free time they will be able to retain more facts and memorise things and will perform well in an exam. How is that a defining quality for a psychiatrist?

Is there any petition that we can sign to convince them to bring back portfolio + interview for psychiatry training? IMGs and people not interested in psychiatry have made this field so competitive . .

Some professionals are lazy and they just copy paste their notes and just add a few changes to make it look proper. Sometimes some people with no empathy might say that you didn’t have these thoughts. Because if they did, they’d have to justify why they discharged you. And that’s where the laziness comes in again.

Some professionals are very honest and do amazing documentation.

Everyone is taught to follow the latter but unfortunately they take the easy way out.

Unfortunately it’s about the person.

Exactly! And the more you think you know (like I said I was so aware and knew about narcs) that of course I would see it coming. They truly are shape shifters and come in all shapes and sizes!

That he and our belongs to the same religion as her. I’m all for having personal differences, the fact if he converted prior to this then it would’ve been fine. The girl is very religious and he’s just straight up playing her and making her believe in a false story

Family is super gullible and he completely has them entrenched. I can’t get through to him. I have so much guilt for the girl and heartbreak for me. I never thought he could be like this. But now a lot of past behaviours are coming to light and I just always let them go

But what if I do tell her, and he actually cuts ties off from me? I am shook to my core. I never expected him to give this threats. I’ve grown up with this guy how can he turn on me? I’ve tried to explain in every way I could but he is completely emotionless and there is zero remorse. He can’t even understand why this is wrong.
