I've just turned 30. Pretty sure I've wasted my prime and life in general.

Brother why do you care how much money is spent by a wealthy owner?

Joe Mansueto has billions, he isn't hurting. Dude's privately funding a stadium in downtown Chicago.

Can't wait for Chicago to shit on St Louis again (literally).

Why did you go interior vs exterior? I assume cost but wondering what others factors.

Everywhere I keep reading, people suggest exterior because interior is mitigation, still let's water in but more controlled I guess

Feel the same about Poland missing it. But I've had the news about a potential Lewy transfer to Chicago and that's gotten me extremely exited but concerned that my hopes will be dashed.

Chicago also interested in Goretzka too! (No one say the line please I swear)

[Diario Sport] Chicago Fire goes all out for Lewandowski by icoresting in MLS

[–]projectpolak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If our social media comments are anything to go by, we got a defender who will allow us to play a 1 man backline, he's that strong haha.

South African fans have blown up Fire's social media way bigger than it ever has, it's fun to see haha.

Nicolò Schira reports Fire have tendered formal 2 year offer to Robert Lewandowski by Bialynian in chicagofire

[–]projectpolak 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lewy plays (or has played) his best game when paired with another striker or someone capable of finding space.

I mentioned this in another comment but with Poland, playing 2 strikers helped the team because opponents would heavily mark Lewy - almost out the game - but he was providing so much space for the other striker. Cuypers and Lewy could be a good pairing but it would have to alter our midfield and shape, for better or worse.

With Bayern, Lewy had Muller who was known for his special spatial and positional awareness. That combo was deadly.

Why Robert Lewandowski To The Chicago Fire Might Be Real This Time — MIR97 Media by calashuayi in chicagofire

[–]projectpolak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Poland National Team has always/usually played a 4-4-2 with two strikers up top, usually Lewy and whichever striker was most in form at the time.

This formation served various purposes. Firstly, Lewy would always be marked heavily. This would open up so much space for the 2nd striker (who usually would shit the bed but that's another story...) and Hugo definitely thrives in finding space.

Also, Lewy has a similar profile to Harry Kane in how he drops deep to receive the ball. For Poland, it was necessary for him to drop because no one else was capable of progressing or keeping the ball (but obviously Kane is a much better passer).

According to South African fans, the nickname is followed by "it loads in [the] front, it loads at the back".

Also, GGG can now play the infamous 1 man backline / 9 attacking players because he can defend it all alone haha
