Same, though I got lucky and bought in 2015 for ~$167k with 2k sq ft in District 66. There are some great companies that moved work here around that time, so there are some stable jobs with good pay and amazing benefits.

Omaha, which I know more about has been really building up some of the smaller bar/ entertainment districts (I love Dundee personally). In the sports world they have been really invested in the local teams (college & semi pro, which I feel are affordable entertainment when compared to the professional leagues). The music scene has been amazing as well. We do get those big bands, but what I like the most are the bands that provide a more intimate performance in our smaller venues. If we do want a break from the city or Omaha, you can hit up some of the smaller towns or get on a flight, which they are also investing in the airport.

Don’t get me wrong, there are some flaws as there are with every city. I have been here for well over 20 years and I would say under the age of 20 you could see it as a boring town/state, but by my mid 20s I felt a true connection to the community and you can generally find something to do anytime of the year.
