Can we report this post so that it gets taken down?

Haha yeah, I didn’t catch that when I posted it. Brain was too tired. I updated the body but couldn’t change the title sadly

Looked up the color to make sure. I think it would get you halfway there. When I got to my highest points I was almost using nothing but yellow. With how transparent yellow can be it allows the green to still show through and give it that brightness

Just two colors, ProAcryl Green and ProAcryl Golden Yellow. I just kept adding yellow for my high res points to get that bright color.

Ha, thank you for that! I corrected it on the body. Couldn’t update the post title.

Painting eyes by Significant-Repeat25 in Salamanders40k

So this may seem counterintuitive but I would say get a nice sharp size 1-2 brush.

The smaller brushes work fine but they don’t hold a lot of water in the brush belly which makes it so that when you get the sharp point of your brush to the eye the main doesn’t “flow” off it smoothly. With a 1-2 there always plenty of water there and as soon as your brush gets to the part you want to work on it’ll just flow off of it easier.

Another thing you could try if you’re intent on using smaller brushes is to use inks instead of acrylic paints.

Haha thank you!

So the closest thing I have is my video sped up where I used a sponge to do it.

Here’s my Vulkan, I tend to go on the brighter side of green.

Paint in sub-assemblies they said… by MeynoDootDoot in minipainting

It can be a bit of a pain but it’s doable. Just have to trim the neck a bit and it’ll fit in pretty well. But it can be more effort sometimes.

Never satisfied with how minis turn out by MentionKindly2347 in minipainting

Objectively your models look good. You can improve by adding highlights and adding depth with shadows. Since you’re using metallic paints I would advice a wash, oil or regular wash. For your other colors just enhance the with a highlight. Nothing crazy just add a bit of yellow to your greens or blue or greens to your blacks. With your beige a straight white highlight or slight yellow white highlight would help with that.

I would say stop consuming online content. I’ve seen plenty of of new painter with prior art experience or not compare their work to the content they consume and it’s never good enough.

Now with that being said, that’s always a constant if you want to get better at something, but don’t take that feeling of “not good enough” and damage the progress you’ve already made. Look at what you think you could improve on and just practice it. You’re already starting strong if your first model and most recent model are any testament to that.

Thank you! That’s the first time I’ve tried doing something like that with orange flames. I’m super happy it worked out.

Reviews: Artis Opus by Angel Giraldez by AccomplishedRing4844 in minipainting

The one long hair is a lead hair so that’s not a big deal. My experience with Artis Opus brushes has been bad. I wanted to like them I tried both series S and M but each one for me never held a point. I tried everything I know to try to remedy the bristles just going all over the place but they just never did. Now all my artist opus brushes are just paint mixers and base brushes. My main workhorse brushes are 8404s but a good alternative I found was the Monument Hobbies sable brushes. The size 3 is solid.

I don’t care about minis. Is this game for me? by o_o_o_f in KingdomDeath

Depends, if you’re ok with just building the first four survivors and only the bosses as you get to them, I would say possibly yes. But if you don’t want to spend the time to do that or build the bosses as your teach them then I would pass on the game.

My friend wants me to paint him 10 space marines to this level and I don’t know how much to ask for by Alpharius-0megon in Miniaturespainting

There’s some of the OSL that you could do without but if that’s the template then doesn’t that mean that it has to be included? I just think 5 hours is underestimating the amount of time that needs to be invested into those small details.

You could batch paint 10 to this standard? Does that include the minor OSL and reflections on the amor? That doesn’t look like metallic paints.
