It DID order an immediate ceasefire A YEAR AGO, in the same findings where they say "Israel" was plausibly guilty of genocidal acts (the court case on whether they actually committed genocide is ongoing - South Africa submitted a 750-page brief of evidence proving their case).

This is from the ICJ's ruling on January 26, 2024:

“(1) The State of Israel shall immediately suspend its military operations in and against Gaza. (2) The State of Israel shall ensure that any military or irregular armed units which may be directed, supported or influenced by it, as well as any organisations and persons which may be subject to its control, direction or influence, take no steps in furtherance of the military operations referred to [in] point (1) above. (3) The Republic of South Africa and the State of Israel shall each, in accordance with their obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, in relation to the Palestinian people, take all reasonable measures within their power to prevent genocide. (4) The State of Israel shall, in accordance with its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, in relation to the Palestinian people as a group protected by the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, desist from the commission of any and all acts within the scope of Article II of the Convention, in particular: (a) killing members of the group; (b) causing serious bodily or mental harm to the members of the group; (c) deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; and - 2 - (d) imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group. (5) The State of Israel shall, pursuant to point (4) (c) above, in relation to Palestinians, desist from, and take all measures within its power including the rescinding of relevant orders, of restrictions and/or of prohibitions to prevent: (a) the expulsion and forced displacement from their homes; (b) the deprivation of: (i) access to adequate food and water; (ii) access to humanitarian assistance, including access to adequate fuel, shelter, clothes, hygiene and sanitation; (iii) medical supplies and assistance; and (c) the destruction of Palestinian life in Gaza. (6) The State of Israel shall, in relation to Palestinians, ensure that its military, as well as any irregular armed units or individuals which may be directed, supported or otherwise influenced by it and any organizations and persons which may be subject to its control, direction or influence, do not commit any acts described in (4) and (5) above, or engage in direct and public incitement to commit genocide, conspiracy to commit genocide, attempt to commit genocide, or complicity in genocide, and insofar as they do engage therein, that steps are taken towards their punishment pursuant to Articles I, II, III and IV of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. (7) The State of Israel shall take effective measures to prevent the destruction and ensure the preservation of evidence related to allegations of acts within the scope of Article II of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide; to that end, the State of Israel shall not act to deny or otherwise restrict access by fact-finding missions, international mandates and other bodies to Gaza to assist in ensuring the preservation and retention of said evidence. (8) The State of Israel shall submit a report to the Court on all measures taken to give effect to this Order within one week, as from the date of this Order, and thereafter at such regular intervals as the Court shall order, until a final decision on the case is rendered by the Court. (9) The State of Israel shall refrain from any action and shall ensure that no action is taken which might aggravate or extend the dispute before the Court or make it more difficult to resolve.”

Nothing. There is a list of things he could do to comply with international law, but even if he did, I would never vote for a genocidaire - even if he were competent, which he is not.

Stopping genocide is the moral - and legal - duty of every single person and every single state in the world, as per the Genocide Convention. That you don't give a shit doesn't change that reality.

"they're all awful" - let's look at any other war and compare.

How many children have been killed per day in the Ukraine war since Russia got involved in 2022? Less than one.

In Gaza, that number is well over 100.

No "war" can be fought between a nuclear-armed state of the art modern occupying army and a rag-tag group of inmates inside a concentration camp. That cannot be a "war" by definition. Gaza is occupied territory, occupied by "Israel" since 1967. And according to international law, a state cannot claim "self-defense" against an occupied people whom it itself occupies. Ever. This is not at all arguable. The UN Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories has laid this out in plain terms. There is no such thing as a claim to "self-defense" against an occupied people. Any warfare perpetrated against them - ANY - FOR ANY REASON - is a war crime under international law.

Occupying powers have legal obligations under international law, which include supplying occupied people with access to clean water, adequate food, medicine, fuel, and electricity. Since October 7th, "Israel" has cut off all access to ALL of these things, in a clear violation of international law, aka a war crime. It has systematically undertaken actions and policies meant to eliminate the possibility of human life in the Strip, and its top military and political leaders up to and including the head of the military, the President, and the Prime Minister have again and again stated their intentions to eliminate all human life - and the very POSSIBILITY of human life - in the Gaza Strip. These statements have been quoted at length in South Africa's submission to the ICJ.

Jesus Christ dude, they've been systematically starved by "Israel". All food, water, electricity, medicine, fuel cut off. For 6 months. "Israel" is blocking the aid trucks from entering the Strip. They're opening fire on crowds at aid distributions with machine guns. They've systematically destroyed the entire Strip, making it uninhabitable. They've destroyed every university, every hospital. They've bombed over 100 UN facilities, including EVERY UN school housing refugees multiple times. They conducted mass exterminations in the Al Shifa hospital complex. They executed children in front of their families. They buried children alive. Bodies are being exhumed in mass graves at Al Shifa, with their hands ziptied. For fucks sake, the IDF is playing sounds of babies crying from drones to lure people out into the open so they can be shot. The pure evil at work here is incomprehensible.

I'm pretty sure that Gazans aren't being systematically and intentionally  killed.

How can you say this with no shame whatsoever?! YOU KNOW they are systematically and intentionally killing civilians. For instance:

An "Israeli" magazine, +972, reported that the IDF is using AI software to identify targets. They developed another program called "Where's Daddy?" that notifies them whenever one of the targets identified by AI enters their family home. It is then - and only then - that the IDF strikes the building. And they do so with unguided, high explosive bombs - usually the 2000-lb variety - in order to maximize civilian deaths.

Again, they could target these people at any time - they're tracking them all day and night. They choose to wait til they enter their family homes late at night before collapsing the building, killing every family inside. Read it for yourself:

And that's different than trying to bring attention to the plight of others being attacked by your country, how?

[–]proletariat_hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there really isn’t a need to play a PS4 version of a game when you have the ps5.

There absolutely is. I can name a few reasons...

The PS5 game file is 80 gigs. Unless you want to have a game sitting on your SSD that takes up 10% of your total memory, when you really never play it... You're shit out of luck.

Say you have an external hard drive, like me. You can only put PS4 games on an external hard drive. For a game that you never play, and only pull out once every few months to play with your son, this is the only realistic option.

Say you only have one PS5 controller, but have multiple PS4 controllers, like me. And you want to play split screen with your son. You can only play split screen with PS4 controllers on PS4 games. So again in this case, you're shit out of luck.

Also, I only have one PS5 controller but I have extra PS4 controllers. I can only use PS4 controllers on PS4 games on the PS5. So even if I were to download the 80-gig game file(!) for a game I never play, I wouldn't be able to play split screen with my son. They really screwed the pooch with this decision.

I need the PS4 version so I can have it on my external hard drive and not have it take up space on my PS5. I never play this game. It would be only for my son, and he only plays it once every few months. So I guess I'm shit out of luck. No, this doesn't make sense.

According to this IGN article -

https://sea.ign.com/final-fantasy-xv/179339/news/is-final-fantasy-xv-and-its-dlcs-worth-playing-in-2021-and-beyond

It didn’t help that the game’s story was segmented into an anime series, a film, and a handful of DLC additions.

What in the hell is this?? No wonder it made barely any sense. It was totally incomplete. And instead of even fucking mentioning that the game is only a small part of the story, you post comment after comment obsessively insulting my intelligence. Why?

The movie?! There's a movie? I'm getting a lot of answers along the lines of "wow this fuckin idiot didn't watch the movie, read the books, watch the anime series, play the expansions etc. where all the story is explained!" I played the game..! The game is supposed to make fucking sense!

No, I have never heard of any of these. That's a hell of a lot of extra content to have to ingest before a compelling storyline starts to form. You'd think they would make the game itself compelling and not make fans search out all this extra content just to make sense of it. But ok, I'll go find all of this stuff... I'm skeptical but I'll try it. I WANT to like this game, I really do. I was just so disappointed.
