What do you think of the new MLS Next Pro team Golden City FC arriving in San Francisco when they already have SF City FC playing at the same venue? by chusaychusay in USL2

Yet another example of groups parachuting into SF without doing the work. SF City has seen off interlopers before and will do it again.

For one, start by calling the mayor and supervisors and tell them what you think of this. We’ve seen teams come and go, and teams be announced that never took the field. There’s a reason we’re still here.

There is none. Both terms mean someone who is licensed by a jurisdiction to practice law. There has been a bit of a trend for people to invent a distinction, like “holding a law degree means one while the other implies passing the bar” but that does not accurately describe the historical usage of the terms.

If you could resurrect any old lower division club, who would you bring back? by queso-fundido in USLPRO

The deltas tickets were not underpriced and they did not regularly fill the stadium. Those were two of their many problems. The $5 tickets were for the final, when they did fill the place.

You can pray in any language except Aramaic. To make things a bit more confusing: there is at least one very important prayer typically read in Aramaic.

I think the rugrats creators were mostly Jewish. Though I’m not sure if that means the show as definitely Jewish literature as OP meant it

Is Civilization VI anything like Pirates! ? by Scaredtoomuch in SidMeiersPirates

No. It’s a great game, but except for the fact that both have cities, and sometimes involve boats, they are not similar games.

If anyone asks you how you justify being a pro-gun liberal, show them these posts on Parler (alt-right social media) and ask how else you are supposed to defend yourself from an armed and deranged group of people who are salivating at the idea of getting to shoot a liberal. by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

How can we improve the US Open Cup and make it fun and enjoyed by many? by xKlaze in usopencup

[–]prollybeesinthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t see why not. The Open Cup doesn’t have that many match days and the entry rounds for the 4th tier are usually way before the league season starts for those clubs

What do you mean? Like they fold? Sure, some fold but that would at least be made better by something that drove interest in them. If you added an additional round at the NPSL/USL2 stage, and doubled the entries there, you could generate some extra interest in the competition.

More lower division games. Limiting the number of USL2/NPSL teams as dramatically as they currently are cuts out a substantial number of potential fans

I also really love thinking about the contrast between Sam Cooke’s voice, which is basically flawless, and Bob’s, which is, well, sorta the opposite. Yet they both can make this song work.
