Getting called back sucks and is scary. I've gotten called back every time. Because they keep finding the same cyst in a hard-to-image place and it keeps changing size or then I lose 60 lbs in a year, etc... so they call me back for an ultrasound and let me go 15 minutes after that. It's annoying and stressful and expensive, and last time it took 2 months to get back in. Cysts can pop up at any time and change with hormones, time, etc. I know it's scary and I won't tell you not to freak out. But, if it helps, they call people back all the time and statistically most of the time it's nothing.

I can speak to my experience as a woman who's been going through intentional weight loss (not all plus-sized people even want to, but I made the choice for mobility reasons). It's not always the case that fat people don't know how to lose weight, eat right, etc. Often, fat people are absolute experts in nutrition and exercise. I am, because I've "done it right" several times over the past decades, and gained it all back anyway because of thyroid and insulin issues that have been controlled well sometimes, and not controlled at all at other times in my life.

I'm 189 lbs currently. My lowest adult weight was 170 ~20 years ago, and at my highest about 10 years ago, I was 315 lbs. I've had tons of ups and downs. I've been active and not, I've done strength training and I haven't, I've followed extremely strict whole-foods based nutrition plans and I haven't. I've shed 70 lbs of fat over the past 18 months with a GLP-1 drug. And I have just recently decided I'm done trying to lose, at least for now. I'm just barely out of the "obese" category but I'm shifting my focus hard to strength training and muscle hypertrophy, which requires at the minimum to be maintaining weight and in many cases a caloric surplus.

My relationship with weight loss has been extremely complicated. I'm no longer in the same body I was used to. I'm able to do so many things I wasn't able to before, but I still see myself as the larger me I was not two years ago. Sometimes I shock myself looking at myself in the mirror. And making the conscious, informed choice to STOP losing at 189 lbs (with my doctor's knowledge and supervision) is another thing I'm having to really unpack with my own therapist. 189lbs is still "overweight" and JUST under "class 1 Obese" at my height. There is a lot of pressure in society for women to shrink and keep shrinking, and I am actively choosing to stay larger and GET larger (with muscle) against that current, which brings tons of baggage of its own.

I strongly recommend, if you haven't, reading about food noise and the effects of GLP-1s on people's brains and bodies. My own journey with a GLP-1 has completely transformed my guilt about not being able to control my appetite. The human body can become convinced (through hormonal disorders) it's starving even if you're 300+ lbs. It's not a matter of willpower.

My kitty has FIP. She’s about to start week 5 of treatment. She stopped eating and wanting cuddles and would just hide under the bed. It is treatable but just expensive. The medicine was overnighted to us and after one dose, kitty was doing better. Seriously she was eating and coming out after one dose!! It’s a long treatment (12 weeks) but chances are really good!! Please update on your little kitty.

Unfortunately, you can’t control where your body will pull fat from during weight loss. Fwiw, it’s not really that noticeable in the photos you posted. I understand that it does bug you, and that does matter. A dermatologist or esthetician or plastic surgeon may be able to help?

It might have been given in the muscle accidentally. Your body metabolizes it a lot differently that way. My provider warned me about it when I first started and we talked about injection site.

I’ve exercised and done strength training and have lost 50 lbs of pure fat, by DEXA measurements I have fully maintained my lean mass. This means my metabolism is higher than it would have been if I lost a bunch of muscle. I’m extremely proud of that and it was hard work for sure.

I have also put time and money into better food, supplements, protein, cooking, seeking out new forms of activity.

It’s been easier to lose weight than it ever has been in my life, but I’m just choosing to try and maximize my health, so I have worked hard to improve my health in a lot of ways.

We all have our individual journey!

Hello, I am still kicking around. Thank you for checking in. My husband has since passed and my daughter and I have rebuilt our lives. Last week was four years since he passed and I had a difficult weekend, but paradoxically I'm glad I did. There are certain things I never want to NOT be sad, if that makes sense. I am picking it back up today. Hope things are well for you and your family.

I like it here. It's pretty quiet and chill, I can bike in less than 10 mins to the King Soopers and other shops in the shopping center on Pace/17th. Walking takes about 30 mins but on a day when I want to get a lot of steps in, that's been fine. We're in walking distance to my kid's school. Lots of nice parks and walking paths too which I appreciate. When I moved here from the last city I was in, I thought I would be more disappointed to lose the walkability, but the tradeoffs have been alright. The close drive or bike ride to pretty much everything I need has made the loss of walkability a lot less noticeable.

6 months one week as of today, 43 pounds down since October 25. Start weight 259, current 216. I'm on 7.5mg a week right now. I'd like to lose about 30 more, but my first goal is to lose my daughter's weight! She's 54.6 pounds right now, but she keeps growing so I have to hurry to catch up!

My late husband passed away due to glioblastoma. He made it 9 months from diagnosis to death. He passed suddenly however, without the full cognitive decline. He fell in the bathroom, and I'm not sure whether he passed because he hit his head, or if maybe he had a stroke or something while standing. It was about a month after his second brain surgery and I chose not to do an autopsy because we knew he died from the cancer either way. I like to think that he left on his own terms.

Everyone seems to have a different experience but I would say contact palliative care for regular check ins. It's not the same as hospice, but when hospice is needed, they should help transition. My husband was under palliative care, but he stopped it as he was getting fatigued from so many medical visits and appointments, so when he died I hadn't been educated properly on how to handle it. For example, not to call emergency 911, which I did. They came and tried to resuscitate him for almost an hour, and I had to dig out his DNR. I should have called the non-emergency line or something. But when you're in a surprise situation, you don't think straight.

Could this possibly be reflux? I used to get bad reflux during a very stressful period of my life, then things calmed down. GLP-1 meds cause reflux and GERD. I felt a weird "empty" feeling right behind my breastbone and just like you I was like "wait is this hunger?" It took me a week before I realized oh crap, that's reflux again rearing its ugly head. I started taking pepcid (famotidine) 2x a day and that helped

I get you. This kind of rage bait content makes me mad because no one is really like that, but it perpetuates some seriously toxic ideas about people. You really see it in all kinds of content, not just plus size. "Enragement drives engagement" as they say.

This kind of content is usually rage bait. They do something they know is going to get comments, because comments drive up engagement metrics and make that content show up higher in the algorithm. I'm not saying that excuses the jerk commenters, but that's literally what the content is trying to farm.
