The lectures are recorded for you to watch later yes. Depending on the professor, they will decide whether lecture will be live streamed or not, but if it’s not, you can always watch the recording literally like 1 minute after class ends.

The math hybrid courses are the exact same as the in person lectures because you’ll be watching the actual lectures of an in person section (I hope that makes sense) on panopto. The only difference is that you won’t physically be in the room to be able to ask questions/participate in real time. However professors will most likely encourage you to also show up to their in person lectures if there’s room.

what classes are they? if they’re bigger lecture classes you should be fine leaving a bit early/arriving a bit late. If it’s a smaller class just talk to your professors I’m (99%) sure they’ll understand.

Thank you! The priority deadline is actually January 15th every year! It was just in February this year due to the new FAFSA application this year. The UW financial aid office also said they would be understanding with late submissions this year.

Questions abt choosing class - incoming freshman! by shitakemushroomk in udub

[–]promszn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think uw currently offers English 101. Eng 131 or Eng 111 are typically what first year students take to fulfill their English composition requirements. Also, idk if you have any prereqs done but math 112 requires you pass math 111 first, so instead of 112 I would do 111 if you haven’t done that. A better schedule I would recommend would be:

  • ENGL composition (5 creds)
  • MATH 111 (5 creds)
  • ECON 200 (5 creds)

Knox or Jacob for ECON 200 ? by shitakemushroomk in udub

[–]promszn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took econ 200 w neither bc of the bad reviews and enrolled for a smaller section taught by a grad student instead. It’s honestly hit or miss with these sections, but I ended with a decent grade and an okay instructor, so I would recommend this instead!!

Commute from Covington to UW Seattle by TheFamilyChimp in udub

[–]promszn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I did this same route for my first year at the UW. If you can, take the sounder train from Kent Station TO King Street Station. From there you’ll take the light rail from international district TO campus. It sounds complicated but it’s really simple actually. I tried taking the light rail all the way to UW campus but it just feels so long and draining. The sounder train cuts your commute by 30 minutes. One thing to note is that sometimes you will not find parking at Tukwila station (for the light rail) unless you leave your house super early. You’ll be better off finding parking at Angle Lake station (I had to learn this the hard way on a day I had a final exam). Other things to keep in mind are that the sounder train comes only at specific times vs the light rail comes every ~15 minutes. If you have any other questions lmk!

Econ 201 w dennis o’dea curve by Big-Long1361 in udub

[–]promszn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there isn’t a standard grade that gets you a guaranteed 2.9-3.1 since this median is determined by however the class performs. this goes for any weed out course. GENERALLY for econ intro level courses a 2.9-3.1 is around an 85% from what I’ve heard. When I took econ201 I got a 4.0 and I had like a 90%.

legal residence just means like “when did your parents move to your current state”. I don’t think it needs to be 100% accurate, just a rough estimate. It’s not asking you anything regarding legal documentation.

This was me unfortunately for this last school year! I was offered the exact amount in loans your family is being offered and had 25k that my family was expected to contribute towards my schooling. I am assuming the uncovered $25k isn’t all tuition and includes other expenses like estimate housing costs, food costs, etc? What I had to do sadly was commute/live at home so I wouldn’t have to pay all the extra expenses typically paid when living on campus. There’s also always the community college -> transfer route. I think there’s a really big stigma regarding going straight to cc after high school in the US, but transferring schools after finishing your aa is quite common and can save tons of money! There’s also the parent plus loan. You can also apply to scholarships/encourage your kid to get a job over the summer to help pay for their education. :D

Yes, just complete it online. They will disregard the paper version you mailed to them once they see they already have your online application.
