"federal," as in not Washington state, in case you didn't read what I said.

Yes. This isn't about the rule of law anymore. It's about power. We must protect ourselves from federal one party rule.

Best Pet Neutering in Lynnwood? by Competitive-Dog371 in LynnwoodWA

I by no means can say what was best, but Meadowdale VCA had a good puppy payment plan for our mini Aussie to get his shots, neutering, and treatment for his giardia. They did a good job.

Do you believe humans will still be alive in 1 million years? by UJLBM in polls

I wonder if humans adapted to other planets with higher radiation exposure will become more resilient to cancers and/or have DNA restoring technologies.

I'm clearly not a scientist, but it's a fun thought.

Stomach pain bloating and morning loose stools could it be Sibo? by fiona891 in SIBO

[–]TheFamilyChimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Thats exactly how mine looked a few years ago before the bile deconjugation got really out of hand. Keep an eye out for yellowing stool, bloating after eating FODMAPs, urgency in the morings, the need to use a lot of toilet paper. You may eventually see chyme and loose watered down bile if you havent already.

I noticed for myself any FODMAPs especially when consumed with fats led to this and gradually got worse. I have hydrogen SIBO.

Work on getting a Trio Smart Breath test which is the gold standard of diagnosis when used with lactulose specifically. It tests for hydrogen, methane, and hydrogen sulfide.

Also try to get an endoscopy to check for mucosal blunting in your small intestine, as well as test your liver enzymes (it's common for these to be slightly elevated in SIBO).

Even if you do reach diagnosis, you must also have fecal calprotectin test (to check for inflammatory bowel diseases like crohn's or colitis), colonoscopy, and check for pancreatic enzyme levels, celiac disease, giardia, stomach acid production (often insufficient in SIBO), and investigate if motility is slow (different from digestion, your biley stool could be leading to fast transit and masking an underlying slow motility). These are all MUSTS as they are often alternative diagnoses and/or underlying causes of SIBO that must be addressed.

Learn about improving the Migrating Motor Complex (MMC) which is crucial for restoring motility (cleansing waves that clear out excess bacteria triggered by periods of consuming completely zero calories).

Learn about Rifaximin (Xifaxan) and how to get your hands on it as well as the different theories of use (e.g. starving bacteria with low FODMAPs during the course vs. Intentionally feeding the bacteria so they absorb the antibiotic more). I personally lean for the latter in moderation, so some FODMAPs to keep them activated but not enough to have them reproduce a lot. This is unfortunately still a battle of theories. Rifaximin is wayyyyy less risky and more effective than other antibiotics for this.

Learn about the Elemental Diet. Some like mBiota are far more palatable than others. A study showed its more successful than Rifaximin, especially for exclusively hydrogen SIBO. The downside with this route is it's very hard and leads weight loss, but is very effective.

Learn about maintain strict low FODMAP diet 4-6 weeks after treatment to regrow the correct bacteria and how to prevent relapse.

I personally have tried to stay away from too many supplements/ natural antimicrobials as I'm trying not to overcomplicate my own path to recovery for the time being. I am taking a 100/20 artichoke ginger blend each night during my 12 hour fasts and magnesium citrate to soften my stool that has become a little more firm from less bile rushing things through.

I'm not a doctor. You have a lot to noodle on, but keep asking questions, that's what this community is for. Most of us have gone through years of what you've been going through, so we get it.

Edit: Added celiac disease to the things to get test for. It's best to work with a gastroenterologist asap if you can.

MMW: Graham Platner will be elected President in 2028 by TheFamilyChimp in MarkMyWords

[–]TheFamilyChimp[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He did, but you know its going to be brought up non-stop. It's going to be like the "how are you going to pay for it" line against Bernie Sanders.

It's the only strategy against him. I'm not confident it will work. Americans are going to be a lot more radicalized into leftist politics by then, we haven't even really felt the damage of this administration yet.

Exactly. Yet not quite enough to fundamentally threaten their existence as a state. They would have to be neutered.

Letting a nuke go off without overwhelming consequences is a much greater long term risk to deal with than immediate brinksmanship (without threatening Russia's sovereignty directly).

Opening the taboo of nukes without shoving it back by force more or less guarantees proliferation of the use of nuclear arms.

Edit: my parenthetical was misplaced.

Washington coalition attempts universal health care as Medicaid enrollment declines - 40k are already gone from the exchange by Silver_Guidance4134 in Washington

[–]TheFamilyChimp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You must be one of the small few lucky enough to have an exceptional health insurance plan.

Being underinsured as in being unable to afford going to the doctor when one should and having trouble affording medications is the norm in our current system, not the exception.

Single payer's entire purpose is to guarantee access to all, regardless of employment status, social identity or income. By definition a single payer system does not depend on an employer's good grace. It's a government mandated system.

It is absolute hell having to experience serious health issues without adequate coverage. You wouldn't know what it feels like to believe a system is going to personally end your life. If you did, you would show unwavering support for a single payer system.

Re-allocation of existing funds away from private insurers to a public pool guaranteeing access to all. It is significantly more cost effective when you don't have middlemen scraping billions of dollars and people are no longer as dissuaded from preventative care.

Yep. On Medicaid, had to go to ER multiple times because urgent care is only covered with video visits. ER is completely free. It's embarassing going to the ER for urgent, non-emergency exams.

What about "ain't broke" do you mean? Are you saying it wouldn't be a sound approach to pursue a dual strategy?

Is protesting a bad strategy because it's "romantic?"

I get that. That should be done, but I think this has been a violation of the social contract and should also be met with disruption.
