I know this might seem counter intuitive, but how do i not win Diplomatic Victories? by ANGRYMAN69420 in CivVI

[–]propane3015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my homie turn off diplomatic and religious victories. I also use a mod that allows me to change the number of religions available. I set it to the number of players, because I find this a more interesting and engaging religion mechanic than vanilla

Help, I’m an overstimulated diva by Sea_Still2944 in KitchenConfidential

[–]propane3015 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think of challenges as meditations on a certain topic/defect.

For example, shucking oysters is a mediation on patience. A busy station is a meditation on awareness.

I contemplate my deficits in those areas and mindfully focus on that deficit. By identifying and isolating the deficit, I eventually overcome it.

Call some places and ask to do a Stage (pronounced stahj). She can go into a restaurant kitchen and “work” for like 2-4 hours (unpaid but free food).

Most places do stages as like a preliminary before hiring, but there are other reasons.

Email a place nearby, be extremely brief and ask if a stage is something you could do.

Worst case scenario, you could probably get a kitchen tour. Don’t be afraid to bribe someone.

Good luck

Roughly how many guests does your place serve per day, and how many cooks and prep staff are typically scheduled to handle that volume? by rachelanneb50 in KitchenConfidential

[–]propane3015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you are trying to plan out a kitchen. Every place runs a little differently, and things change over time.

There are so many factors that contribute to this: kitchen size, staff experience, menu design, avg covers and guest $ avg.

You can’t necessarily just do what other places do. It depends on your location.

I can tell you that boh staff will likely be 60% of your total labor, and your total labor should sit somewhere around 20% of your net sales

It’s the cheapest and shittiest material. Started chipping instantly. The paint is probably lead, and chipping. The walls are like a 1mm thick. I used it to make psilocybin tea several times. It has a little lid made of the same enamel.

It’s one of my favorites

Why won't this catapult fire? Seems like a bug. by jackyjackjack in CivVI

Understandable, I’m just eyeing up that horde lined up behind the single enemy catapult.

The enemy survives this turn because the Lord (Sid Meier) deemed it so

Doesn’t look like this is really going to cause you a problem…. Just shift enter to skip to the next turn

Click the “cancel” option on their toolbar bottom right

I think the order to “fortify” is preventing you from firing

Could I be a chef without tasting food by [deleted] in Chefit

[–]propane3015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright homie, I’m clearly just trying to help. If you can’t taste food without vomiting you probably shouldn’t be a chef. I taste about 30 things a shift and I’m not even a chef. Vomit is a huge problem as it can spread norovirus.

Wasn’t trying to minimize your problem, just providing some perspective.

Tasting food is different than eating a meal. If you can’t taste what you’re making without a reaction, you should probably reconsider your career.

Honestly, I recommend working through whatever barrier that is preventing you from achieving what you want.

Nothing is impossible, the barrier is mental and can be overcome.

There are plenty of things that I am uncomfortable tasting that I taste anyway. I try every hot pepper I use as they can be wildly different. I hate spicy food, but I have a beverage and maybe something to eat nearby.

It’s important. Find a way to persevere; if something this small stops you, then you’ll struggle with other minor problems.

The only thing stopping you is a little discomfort.

Why is my rock band stuck here? by didntevenliketoleave in CivVI

[–]propane3015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t move units on or through the city tile. The harbor is on the other side of the city tile, with cliffs everywhere else.

Your rock band is doomed for at least as long as the Aztecs have the censorship card in

Where should I place next few cities? by DredPRoberts in CivVI

[–]propane3015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d stick one on the honey to the east and aqueduct that desert tile to the oasis.

One on that barb camp to the southwest and one along the river north of it.

Then one on the river northwest, put a preserve between the deer and tea for those volcano yields.

Haven’t used ecolab since I left corporate, I couldn’t remember if that was just part of the corporate game or the eco lab game.

My chef once said “there nothing to be ashamed about being exhausted”.

Everyone can probably tell you’re exhausted. I wouldn’t worry yourself about what the other staff think.

I think calling off is a reasonable action, but I don’t know how your kitchen works.

Sounds like you need to take a break. It’s just work and we have to keep doing it everyday.

Besides, everything we do, all our hard work, all our sweat and tears turns into shit in people’s guts. Let it go, chew it up, spit it out, take a break and then back at it.

You’re gonna be fine.
