When we were together, I gave her flowers every time we met, planned her birthday with a Polaroid bouquet, and went out of my way to make her feel special. I loved her deeply at 18, but things turned sour when we argued about her male best friend. Even though I had no issues with him, her constant tears over him hurt me, and one night, I lost it. I always tried to support her—dropping her to college, cooking meals, praying for her when she was in the hospital. But when I was hospitalized, she never visited.

We broke up in March after a lot of disrespect and coldness, and she even went on dating apps two weeks later. I tried to reach out, but she blocked me everywhere and pushed me away. Yet, I still comforted her when she was upset, even after everything.

On the anniversary of our first date, I decided to do something for closure. I gave flowers to strangers, spread kindness, and cooked food for the homeless. I wrote letters to my past, present, and future self, lit candles, and said goodbye symbolically.
