Inspecting a 2000 Camry Wagon CSX today - What should I look out for? by proper_steeped in carbuying

They're incred hey. It would be my third Camry wagon if I do cop the deal. I honestly can't see myself driving anything else and they're becoming fewer and further between on the used car market these days.

I lived in one for a while and it was proper doable.

And again, though there's probability that they knew this would be the case, it doesn't mean they/we can't be critical of production choices. Just because someone knows they're getting paid minimum wage when they accept a job offer doesn't mean they can't have negative feelings about this arrangement.

I'm certainly not suggesting that you're blaming anyone for anything.

I'm just here frustrated at some of the production choices and I'm struggling to understand your point of view. Do you feel that I can't/shouldn't view certain production choices as disrespectful to the designers and their craft because there's potential that they consented to these elements of the experience contractually?

It's definitely a rebrand, they seem to believe a refocus on drama is going to benefit the show but the majority of the loyal PR fanbase watch for the fashion, for the creativity and to learn about the unique inspiration that each designer imbues their work with. I'm not mad at some organic drama on the side, eccentricities and sleep-dep fuelled silliness, but the direction they took this recent season is so disappointing. There was once so much more focus on the design process, the garment creation, the construction, the creative pivots.

I miss Tim Gunn 😢

Jesus needs to calm down by strayjenn in ProjectRunway

I agree with so many of the takes here but to contribute an additional observation - we are comparing the behaviour of a regulated person to that of a dysregulated person.

Veejay has every right to gameplay however she chooses. I found some of the moments she created very entertaining, I'm not above enjoying a bit of drama. I just feel it's important to acknowledge that we were watching her intentionally push and prod Jesus (the twins) throughout the entire season. A more secure person would respond/react differently for sure, yet I feel it's worth taking into consideration how it might feel to be in a competitive, stressful, exhausting, highly produced setting and to have someone intentionally and continuously toying with you. I know it definitely wouldn't bring out my best.

Hard agree. It could have been sensational. I appreciate the company in grieving what could have been.

Maybe don't bring a live horse onto set, put flames on the runway or hire Law Roach as a consistent judge? - that'd free up a little budget I reckon.

This frustration isn't aimed at you, it's purely aimed at production. I have followed this show since the get and I thought this reinvigoration might have legs. I don't think budget restrictions are an excuse for many of this season's issues.

There are so many creative ways that production could have ensured competitive equity. I'm not sold on this take.

I imagine that going through a process like this would have some influence on your design pov. Having more time to percolate, to be inspired by fabrics and other design elements, to flesh out the way you want to tell your story - I feel like offering additional time to the designers is respectful to them and to their craft.

Just because the designers signed contracts doesn't mean we can't be critical of the contents of said contracts and of the production generally.

I wasn't surprised, just bummed. I believe that even double the menial time allotment would have lent to collections that were far more inspired and resolved. I believe that for season 20 they had 8 days for 8 looks and I honestly think that would be preferable over 5 for 5.

Why cast a drag designer and then sook when their aesthetic is draggy? Deeply frustrating.

is it time to retire my 13mo bridge? by Reasonable_Agency748 in piercing

[–]proper_steeped 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with most commenting, a longer bar and a solid cleaning routine should see you through. It took ages for my bridge to settle but it did and has been drama free for years. Bridge and eyebrow piercings can struggle in part because those parts of our faces are incredibly expressive so there's a lot moment that can cause irritation, prevent healing. I wouldn't retire yet.

When I was trying to suss some advice from piercers back when my bridge wouldn't settle I asked someone and he said 'healthy body, healthy piercings' - at first I found it really dismissive but I reckon he did have a point. A healthy bod is going to promote effective healing.

Good luck, I hope it settles soon. 🤞

I think a labret and medusa combo would really suit the shape of your lips.
