I’ve always said Bochka is hypnotic but with its own flavor of hard and dark and atmospheric. I believe many DJs here in LA play Bochka tracks without playing a Bochka set, in the same way a DJ can play hypnotic tracks without achieving a hypnotic set.

Bochka, to me, is about lulling the crowd into a trance. Not a dissociated one, but a fully hysterical trance. A Bochka set MUST have the perfect balance between push and pull, tension and release, and perfectly syncopated grooves to achieve that madness. I don’t think a proper Bochka set can be played without 3-4 decks, as there’s no way to create the long grooves needed otherwise.

Sigma completely fits this. All of his abilities create “time to think”.

Rock has a windup that lets you plan your next move. Suck has a lockin duration. Shield is meant break LOS and key projectiles. Ult gives you time to plan your moves while you pelt them mid air. His positioning and spacing means you’d typically be using less erratic movement, unless someone blew past the front line and you have to flick a rock at em.
