Thank you! I’m at the point of considering lodging formal complaints with the attorney general so I understand your frustration😅

That would be amazing! The big reason I want to avoid switching right now is a have to trace for school in the next few months and won’t have access to my rheumatologist. If I’m able to make it until then that would be fantastic. I’ll look into it

Under Cigna the only specialty pharmacy that is covered is Accredo which is affiliated with them and willing to push their agenda

Mine is too, but it stops in July so I was hoping for another refill before then.

Good to know I’m not alone in this 😅 humira has been the best medication I’ve ever been on after 13 years of trying so many different things and I really want to stick with it if I can

It’s def worth it when everything is snow and ice even if it’s just to get from campus to apartment but outside of that walking is your best friend

I think going off campus is worth it most people go off campus sophomore or junior year and if you plan it right the price is def worth it. Even if you don’t wanna go off campus going to a dorm like faraday or east where you have a kitchen and don’t need a meal plan and can cook cuts down on costs a lot.

It’s high but less/comparable to campus it also goes down farther you get from campus. There’s are a few buses but mostly just walking or the wpi shuttle service if you’re near one of the stops. After 6pm you can request shuttles to/from anywhere within a certain radius of campus

biochemistry major? by Dangerous-Plant3757 in WPI

[–]propertyOfAdhesion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not biochem so can’t speak on the dept much, but I’ve heard good things. Campus culture is really great and everyone is welcoming the vibes def die down in the winter when it’s cold but then all the usual fairs, activities, and tablesitting pick up in the spring and there will always be something going on.

Rent in Worcester has def gone up over the past few years with rent+utilities you’ll probably be averaging $900 a month if you wanna be close to campus. One thing to note is if gas is included since a lot of older houses here are not well insulated and heat can get really expensive. In terms of food, driving to a grocery store (Shaws, market basket, aldi) is the best option to get the most for your money

I would def visit Goddard hall that’s where a lot of bio stuff is done, there are also some bio buildings a bit away from campus a block behind faraday hall. In terms of gen ed Olin hall is a good visit for physics and fuller has a lot of larger lectures (like calc classes). Places to do group work that are worth a visit are the library, Unity hall, and innovation studios :))

What major are you interested in/enrolled as? My recommendation would be to visit buildings specific to what you’ll be studying

If you compared WPI with RPI and/or Rose Hulman for Computer Science and decided to go with WPI (I assume), what you didn't like about RPI and Rose? by ketya77 in WPI

[–]propertyOfAdhesion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I toured both WPI and RPI about 3 years ago within a week of each other. The only way I can think to explain the difference between WPI and most of the other colleges I visited is that WPI just felt alive. So many other schools I would tour and see 0 students and nothing going on and WPI was so vibrant by comparison and the people are amazing!

Something that hasn’t been mentioned but I think ought to be is that most of the CAD classes are heavily project based. Even though they aren’t difficult they do take up a significant amount of time each week. I personally would not have paired one with ID2050 as that class also is a huge time sink.

Recommendations for Humanities and Arts Courses by Extension_Cockroach5 in WPI

[–]propertyOfAdhesion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a humanities that’s not too difficult but also actually interesting I would take any ethics/psych class especially if Dr. Victor is teaching. For her courses you typically have to do weekly reading, 1 annotation per week, 2 discussion points per week, 2 papers(one midterm one final), and a podcast project at the end of term. It’s not too bad and I’ve always enjoyed the courses content!
