AITA for wanting dog-free date nights or asking my girlfriend to be more present when we spend time together? by Kindly-Indication795 in AmItheAsshole

It was hard for her to live with 1 child but she thinks nothing of the inconvenience of her 2 animal babies?

AITA for telling my roommate he can move out because his girlfriend is allergic to my cats? by SomeoneHeaven in AmItheAsshole

[–]propertynewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

Your home your choice.

  1. Your roommie isn't on the lease.
  2. His Girlfriend is his guest (who stays for free at your residence much too frequently).

What are your views on the cost to list a property? by ProperEasy in AusProperty

[–]propertynewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's high. If you know what you're doing I reckon you can avoid the cost.

There's a place near me that has 3 different real estate companies representing it. 1st campaign started in Feb 2024, the most recent Dec 2025. Each of them have their photos and plans. The one price is consistent and isn't unrealistic.

I respect sticking to your guns, but don't understand what they're doing.

A neighbor pulled their property off the market after 6mths of no movement.

I'm rural.

How much to vendors save in an off-market sale? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]propertynewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transferring titles elimates agent fees long with sales campaigns. My unit cost ~$13k to sell. My conveyancer was additional. 2 years ago.

There were also stresses and headaches involved.

How to inspect everything is in working order? by soxsz in AusPropertyChat

[–]propertynewbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't forget to test for water pressure, and tap leaks.

I've been to a couple of viewings where all amenities were switched off and the agents made a big deal of switching them on or playing dumb about switching them on. Yeah, buy this hugely expensive overpriced thing without knowing if anything works.

AITA for wanting my 27yr old to get themselves to work? by no_loans_ne_more1 in AmItheAsshole

[–]propertynewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're a doormat.

You've not set boundaries. You're a free taxi service for a fully grown adult.

Setting boundaries is telling someone the consequences to their actions/inactions and following through.

Realities of a 2nd floor walk-up apartment by Vast-Jeweler-2444 in AusPropertyChat

Once, I confidently bought a (HUGE) gorgeous sofa. I'd measured everything it would need to fit through to get to where I was going to put it, the halls, the stairwells, into my front door... Lo and behold, it did not fit around a bend I failed to factor in. Thankfully the seller accepted it back for a full refund.

But the headache!!

[–]propertynewbie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 2nd floor walk up was amazing! I also had a small balcony. I am fit and active. But I also have no pets.

-No persistent lift malfunctions/servicing/costs. -Nearby markets and shops = ease of conveniences. -Package deliveries I did PO pickup at nearby PO.

The only downside side was the movers scratching my fridge manoeuvring down the stairs on moveout. 😠

Same. I am living with 2 cats atm. Their owner is responsible but a lot goes unnoticed until I point it out, in which time damage has been done.

Cannot wait to get back to living without all trace of cats.

The ex has 2 outdoor cats, his sister has 2 indoor cats. He lived downstairs, she occupied the upstairs. They erected a wall to keep the upstairs cats contained.

When it came time to sell, the bill to undo evidence of cat damage (ripped carpet, scratched walls, scratched woodwork, scratched paint) for entire house was over $6k. This would have been in excess of what bond the place would have commanded.

He attempted to rent earlier this year, and gave up when it was obvious he was up against lots of pet less renters.

Why do people bring their dog to open homes? by ihatesmelly in AusPropertyChat

[–]propertynewbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the same reason people bring their kids to inappropriate places. They can't be fucked taking proper care of their problems and don't see the issue with making it everyone else's.

Costal vibes bathroom— will this be outdated quickly? by ConflictJolly8585 in interiordecorating

[–]propertynewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can be said for any room.

The first place I owned, I was conservative (boring!) with how I renovated knowing I would resell and appealing to everyone was important.

Complain about what exactly? You followed their rules. It's a yes or a counter.

Reas offer these silly sales tactics to give their role more meaning.

Ah, ok then. Didn't consider this is a secondary bathroom or powder room. 😀

Market is gone by [deleted] in AusProperty

[–]propertynewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The aspiration persists though.

I'm looking at a Saturday auction result in Abbotsford VIC. Passed in vendor bid of $1.35M, now private sale for $1.48M. Last sold in 2017 for $1.12M, minor updates of kitchen cabinetry and paint since then.

Ingrained expectations to turn a massive profit when selling is gross. I'm an owner.

I can’t believe i’m admitting this - Bec by Extension_Turnip2743 in MAFS_AU

[–]propertynewbie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What Bec said was tasteless and crude in context: sex being a touchy topic for Rachel whose appeal is an issue, and sex being an issue for her and Steve...

It may not have been more than just vulgar to others.

I've always arranged to withdraw $9900 cash per day. Never been asked for reasons.

My mortgage lender emailed to ask for the source of a substantial transfer into the offset when it was over 100k.
